So I know what your thinking, what the hell is he reveiwing now ,lol, but actually you may be thinking that now but if i get my way you will be looking to buy this classic when im done here, this is a military sim and not just a military sim but probably one of the best military sims i have ever played only second to the panzer general series, but this game is huge and as simple as it is complex and it does the sim aspect very well and the only thing I can give it as negative is the generic looking units, short of that theres nothing I can find wrong with this awesome sim.

So what the heck does Daisenryaku stand for anyway well it means Great Strategy, and thats exactly what you will need to master this beast, now before I get all serious on the game i just want to point out that back on 1up i did a reveiw on this game and got Jefferey or better known online as Temperence interested in this game, as a matter of fact i think he ended up getting it if i remember correctly.

So Dai Senryaku is a turned base strategy game and was produced by Kemco and released in 2004 in the US,and in December of 2007 it was brought to the ps2 by Valcon Games, the game offers players control of your choice of several countrys, the US,Japan,France,Germany,Russia,UK,Isreal, and China,it features many actual combat vehicles and weapons for the player to use,the game map is top, down to 3d and can be rotated,in skirmish mode the game features numerous maps featuring real life locations and scenerios, a certain campaign the East Mediteranean War has the player commanding Russian forces in an attempt to secure a mediteranean base in Cyprus and aiding Syrian forces in Lebanon, fighting the US and Isreal, most of the scenerios have a time limit but can be turned on or off in the options menue.

VII Exceeds campaign features a military force from the blue country while fighting the red country, and the green countrys are allies to both sides at certain points in the game, and most objectives are capturing the capital, you can use towns and citys for supplying you units and extending your supply line because you have fuel trucks that you have to use to refuel your mechanized units and troops and if your supply line gets cut you are in deep trouble because tanks and troops cant fight with no fuel or ammo so a huge part of the strategy is securing your supply lines, something you may want to think about before you blitze way ahead of your supply lines, and your supply lines are shaded on the hexes to show how far you can go before moving up your supply trucks etc.

So as you can see this is not for the casual gamer this is a time consuming, realistic war sim that will take alot of time to master but is worth it, I absolutly love this game its a military war gamers dream come true, the graphics are well look at the pics theres not alot to them, although there is real life maps and military equipment from all of the countrys mentioned, theres aircraft carriers, battleships real world jets, apache choppers there all here with there own individule stats, there is alot to love here, theres even more then i mentioned, but this is a well made military sim and if your into this kinds of games then this will be a dream come true and I give it a 4.5 out of 5 and its very much worth your time.

I remember seeing this game and I was interested in buying it, but for some reason I forgot all about it.

I have this and it's Xbox version. I also tried to get Iron Storm for the Saturn (also by the same developer) once at a convention. I bought it and took it home, but someone had swiped the disc, and I only got the box. I was pissed.

This series reminds me of board games like Squad Leader I used to play all the time in High School and College.

I definitely bought this game after our discussion (as well as a few other strategy games, namely Front Mission DS and Front Mission 3).  It had been a very long time since I last played a hex-based strategy game (probably Military Madness), and this looked like the perfect one to grab, considering the pedigree behind the entire series.  I haven't found the time to really play it yet, though.  I'm waiting until I get back to my PS2 backlog before I sink some significant time into it.

Also, you know what other game you wrote about that I just picked up?  Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI.  I was out shopping the other day and I remembered how my local TRU had a stack of copies a few months back.  I also remembered the difficulty you had in finding the game for a decent price (Amazon sellers want $90 for it in new condition), so I decided to pop in a see if they still had it.  Sure enough, there was one $10 copy left waiting for me and I picked it up.  I might not play it anytime soon, but that's one less massive strategy game I don't have to buy later on.

$10 was what i got mine for at gamestop and it was in mint condition not a scratch on it,and yea I played around a little on Exceed but not enough to get to involved same with Romance oh and ended up getting phantom brave but i think i told you that, still need Devil summoner 1 and 2 I might just end up sinking $200 buck for both so I can quit searching i keep hoping gamestop will getem and it would only cost $20 but im begining to lose hope lol.
