In which Ratchet & Clank is enjoyed, Overwatch is acquired and boy, lots of books to read!

As I'm posting this, I recently finished up the recent Ratchet & Clank. I did unlock Challenge Mode but I'm going to send the rental copy because 1) hoping I can get Uncharted 4 or Doom next time, 2) someone else needs to play this fun-as-hell game, 3) I plan to buy R&C and when I do, I can launch into challenge mode. I finished the story with all gold bolts collected, a majority of holocards collected and the RYNO acquired at the end.

I purchased Overwatch for PS4 last week and that has been an hour or so every night as opposed to the many hours I dedicated to R&C in the past week. If anyone here is playing Overwatch on PS4, friend me or send an invite. Playing with strangers is good so far but I need some friendlies in battle.

I also tried out Batman: Arkham Origins on X360. Played enough to know that I want to purchase it later down the line. If the option to keep my copy was available I'd have taken it. It shouldn't have been the last Arkham game I got to (fell in to the "if Rocksteady didn't make it, it's not worth my time") and it's a reasonably good game on its own terms. The battle with Deadshot was AMAZING.

Last week I spent most of Saturday afternoon with my brother and his wife at their house. We grilled bratwursts and hot dogs, dined on those and sweet potato tater tots, ceasar salad and Yarnell's chocolate ice cream. Also, beer. We visited and then watched Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 (better than I thought it would be; pretty sobering account of maintaining your dignity and moral compass in wartime) and The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (brother hasn't seen it; it's just a lot of fun and a better spy film than Spectre).

Lots of reading material this weekend. After leaving work, I picked up my reserved copy of Justin Cronin's The City of Mirrors. This is the 3rd and final novel following The Passage and The Twelve and the praise has been very positive. Looking forward to the crazy, epic conclusion. I also picked up Joe Hill's The Fireman, Steve Hamilton's The Second Life of Nick Mason, and The Power of the Dog and The Cartel by Don Winslow. LOTS of reading to do. *cracks knuckles with a big grin on his face*

I'll try to fit some movie watching in this weekend too. Don't know if I'll be able to see Warcraft but I've got plenty at home to watch.

Enjoy your weekend, everyone! If it's too hot, stay cool!

Looks like I'll be picking up Doom in August. I don't see anything new to interest me that month so far.
