Knocked Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World off Mt. Backlog (and my puppy is really, really cute!)

I'm home sick today, not sure if it's round two of the vicious chest cold I had earlier or a brand new nasty virus. Either way, I'm so sick of hacking and sneezing. Anyway, Beau and I spent the morning watching The Dog Whisperer. Beau is so funny when there are dogs on TV - he cocks his head and tilts it from one side to the other, and then he gets up close to the TV screen and whines. I think he wants me to let the other dogs out of the box to play with him.

I also decided that it was time to finish of ToS:Dawn of the New World so I'd stop feeling guilty about the fact I was so close to the end and hadn't finished it. So I finished it. So not even close to being in the same league as the first Tales of Symphonia. I saved the clear data just in case, though. It was fun collecting monsters. Things I liked: Collecting monsters, being able to use characters from Tales of Symphonia, having save points that also functioned as healing points in crucial areas (like just before a big boss battle). Things I didn't like: overly long, not terribly interesting cut scenes, the main character through most of the game, no over-world map. It feels good to be done and now I can move on to something else. Leaning toward something from the vast pile of unplayed or only partially played collection of Xbox 360 games that I've accumulated, but we'll see where the whim takes me.

The dog is keeping me busy. Most of the time he's good, but he has his moments. Like peeing on my bed at 10 PM and causing me to have to make an emergency visit to the all-night laundroma,t and escaping out the door just as I was trying to get him into his crate and running off and making me 15 minutes late for work. Good thing he's so cute. His first BarkBox arrived this week, I took unboxing photos that I haven't uploaded to Flickr yet, but it was pretty funny. Also took a couple of videos - one of him eating peanut butter (he never had it before two weeks ago and he loves it) and one of him getting very excited about the treats in the BarkBox.

When my dog Venus was younger, she used to love to watch TV.  When we would leave for work, we'd turn the TV on for her.  It couldn't be on anything scary because it would scare her, so we'd put it on the Nick Jr. channel.  I'd turn on the TV and Dora the Explorer would be on and I'd say, "Venus, come watch Dora!"  She'd run in and just sit there.  I know she was there most of the day because a bunch of dog hair would be in front of the TV.  She'd also bark a lot when we'd watch a game show.  I think she thought the buzzers were the doorbell!

Some of the pets that I've had in the past, like a Siberian Husky named Chief and a Russian Blue cat named Chekov, also liked to watch me play video games.

Our terriers have been the only dogs that have been remotely interested in the TV. Our dog Donald used to like any nature programs with big cats. Beau prefers TV shows with dogs.

ouch.  10PM Pee in the bed emergency.  That hurts.  Taco's doing ok.  We started giving her glucosamine, and I think she's been pacing less and sleeping more.  I always worry she is troubled by her joints and arthritis.

I was sooo mad at him! I wanted to go to bed, not to the laundromat! I think he may have gotten the message, though.

Yeah, glucosamine does a pretty good job. An orthopedic dog bed does, too. BAndit liked his, for the short time he was around to use it. It's Beau's car bed now.

I wish i had a puppy! Alas, the closest I'm getting to one will be Poochy and Yoshi's Wolly World. Do you have the Symphonia Chronicles collection or the wii version? I've heard good things about the port.

He's actually a year old, so not a puppy puppy, more a young dog puppy. He's a lot of work, but I love him.

I have the PS3 Tales of Symphonia Chronicles version (in addition to still owning my GC copy of Tales of Symphonia).

Which game, Ashley? The original Tales of Symphonia or the sequel Dawn of the New World? The original is one of my favorite games and introduced me to the Tales series. The sequel pales in comparison.

And thanks! I think so :)

Such a cute puppy dog! I still only have kitty cats but maybe once Im in a house and not an apartment I can get a puppy dog.

I played Tales of Symphonia the first one back in the Gamecube era however I never got to finish it. I cant say now what stopped me but I loved the hell out of that game from I did play. I know they re-released them but I have yet to get my hands on it where I can actually play it.

Beau thanks you for noticing how adorable he is. The cat hates him. If looks could kill, he'd be dead several times over.

They did a really good job with the PS3 remake of Tales of Symphonia. If you have a PS3, you should try and find it.
