I so loved Doom, I thought about renting it even though I already played it to death. I owned it and then traded it. So stupid because it's endlessly replayable. I'll get it again for the permanent collection sometime. I liked the story even. More than I expected. The end was great too. I had a screen shot of this wall of green goo covered skulls from the game on my Xbox One as wallpaper. I just changed it today to one from Forza Horizon 3, my new obsession.

So I just finished the new Doom. It is aptly titled Doom. And I was thinking what a damn great game. It took forever to come out. I enjoyed the hell out of it. Yes, pun intended. I loved that went back to old school Doom 1, Doom 2 mechanics. Great gameplay and excellent pace.
BUT... it dragged on horribly at the end. And the story was lacking in my opinion . Doom 3 that I played years a go made me think. Yes the game had problems but it to was very good. Lest we forget MC Carmack headed up that game. So...really am I just a doom Super Fan? Having beat DOOM , DOOM 2, Doom 3, Doom 3:Resurrection of EVIL and now DOOM (BETHESDA) I think I have always been. I beat Doom legit without cheat codes. And I had to use cheat codes on 2 becuase that game fuckign sucks without them. Still. When I was not using God mode was the best. And I have beat 2 oh just about a zillion times. I love that ID and Bethesda looked at the source material and respected what DOOM is to many fans. And this is one hell of a ride for sure. It took me 15 hours to beat. Man, my hands are tired as shit . Probably from killing as many demons as I did.
If you end up playing the game. Just note what I said about it dragging on at the end.Countless times I thought hey this is it. Let's end it and then 3 more chapters? And I am like but my hands are tired. I am tired lol.
I'd say easily a 9/10 campaign. If it was shortened by an hour I would still be happy. Way worth the wait. I can't wait to see if they make a sequel. I am sure they will.
