It looks like the final entry in the Crystallis saga will allow Lightning to move around enemies in battle and utilize a clothes swap mid battle system like that of Final Fantasy X-2 dresspheres. I also noticed a tail being sliced off of one of the enemies after staggering similar to the Valkyrie Profile or Resonance of Fate Tri-Ace games battle systems. Not too surprising since they did work on FFXII-2. This new games looks like FF13-2 plus FF 10-2 dresspheres.
I've also noticed a lot of negativity around this game and it's existance. Just reading comments on a youtube channel or forum. If not interested in this game, why go and vent hatred for something you don't care about anyway? I feel like I'm alone in anticipation for this game. I'm curious to know what Pixlbits feelings are regarding Lightning Returns. I for one enjoyed the series and find the new direction refreshing. Am I crazy?
One area of concern is if you are only playing as Lightning the whole game, minus party of characters or pokemons, it might get a bit repetative.
Q: Are you interested in the new Lightning Returns game? What are your thoughts?

I am interested in the game, but I'm not anticipating it anymore. That's because the new release date is February. That's way too long. I didn't like the first one, but did like the second.
And don't pay any attention to youtube comments. The scum of the interwebs dwell there.

Thanks for the comments. I don't mind the game being delayed to Feb. I have enough of a backlog already and will probably be playing Realm Reborn and X and X-2 HD anyhow. I really enjoyed the second game and I want to finish out the series with 3.
Youtubers. Ugh!

Unfortunately, for me, Lightning Returns and Squenix can go outside and play hide and go fuck themselves. I got my money's worth out of FFXIII. It started off slow, but by the end I enjoyed it (even though I had to read a story summary online to understand what the hell was going on). I really enjoyed the battle system. FFXIII-2 was a chore. I finished it, but don't know why. I could not give a shit about either of the characters and SE didn't bother developing them. Then I finally beat it and *spoiler alert*
To be fucking continued? WTF. SE is now EA? Nickle and diming me. Fuck that. SE destroyed the last thread of goodwill they had left with me. I am old. SE was my favorite game company most of my life. Now they are just shit.

Thanks for commenting. I suppose that the release of the new 13 game will allow SE to move along with the next entry in the series, 15 or whatever it will be called, and win back some old fans. So there is a positive to the negative. Unless the end of LR has a to be continued at the end of the game.

It looks more action than RPG, if that's true, looks cool to me, but I don't really play FF or RPGs, so ... ?

Yes. It looks like you can maneuver around enemies in battle this time, so it's more of an Action RPG this time around.

On the one hand I really have not liked the direction Final Fantasy has gone since FFX. I actually enjoyed XIII more than I thought I would, but they have strayed so far from the roots of this series. I figure I will give it a try via Gamefly or when it gets cheap, but I have pretty much given up on Final Fantasy ever reclaiming it former glory.

So does that mean you didn't like 10? 10 and 12 were so different. If anything 13 was closer to 9 and 10 with their linear story driven focus. SE took a big gamble with 13, I doubt they will make the same mistakes again, but then again we are on our third FF13 game. At least they tried to listen to players and make the game world more open and replayable.

FF12 was not bad , it had its flaws but I liked it. I have no love for 10 or 10-2, key reasons being the characters, story and in the case of 10 a shallow combat system. For the most part these games just don't feel like FF games to me. I agree they handled a lot of the rigid linear issues in 13-2, but I still don't care for most of the characters. In fact thats probably the biggest factor, every since 10 the character have just been pretty much unlikeable. But this is just my opinion, some people did not get in to this series till 10 and like all the new stuff.

Not interested. Only cool thing I can think of about Lightning is she has pink hair.

If its like X-II that will be great they need a new direction since XIII-1 and 2 were not that great, and they need to go back to what made Final Fantasy so great in the first place, being able to interact with the huge towns and get off the 30 minute cinematics we want to play the game not watch it lol.
