It's bad I haven't touched these games...

Hope you're having a great weekend. I know you're not supposed to do BaD on weekends but I like bending the rules every now and then. Plus, people wouldn't have anything to read on the weekend. Now on to the selling point of this blog, the DS. I'll tell you, when the DS was first announced I really didn't care for it. I mean it looked neat, but I wasn't sold on 2 screens in a handheld. I mean I just got a GBA SP and I loved it, I mostly got it for Pokemon though. Then Pokemon Diamond and Pearl was announced on the DS and it went from not interested to I needed one. However I played other games that were pretty good that used the touch screen well. There are still games I haven't tried yet, and I'll list them like the previous entries. But first, here are some blogs you might of missed:

Also, a few more days left before my first Q/A on Pixlbit begins, so if you have anything you want to ask, then pm it my way. And with that out of the way, here are the DS games I want to try:

http://cdn.skatter.com/blob/files/2010/06/okamiden-chibi-and-kuni-art.jpg

Okamiden: I never played Okami, I probably should to see what all the fuss is about. I don't know much about Okamiden, I think I read that it was a prequel or something. It looked neat from what I saw. May give it a go if I need to try this before Okami.

http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01810/ghost-trick5_1810859b.jpg

Ghost Trick: I don't know much about GhostTrick, other than it was made by the guy who made the Ace Attourney games. I heard it was really good and is pretty funny.

http://bulk2.destructoid.com/ul/210125-hd.jpg

Aliens: Infestation: I've never seen the Aliens movies, I'm not one for horror or monster movies unless it involves Godzilla. However I heard that this game was really good, it plays like a 2D Metroid game.  It got great reviews, I once saw it for 10 bucks and never picked it up. I regret not doing so.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/99/Scurge_hive_gameplay.PNG

Scurge: The Hive: This is a game that Jeremy Parish talked about at 1up long ago. I had no idea what kind of game this was till I read his article on it. It plays like a 2D Metroid game in an almost asymmetrical view. It's really cheap, so for that price it's worth a look.

http://www.nintendojo.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/art_monsterTale.jpg

Monster Tale: I remember reading about this game on Nintendo Power a long time ago, it looked cool but then I read further and that's when it was an eventual buy to must have. The reason was that it was made by the guys who made Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure on the DS, which I have. It's one of my favorite games on the DS. Anyway Monster Tale blends monster raising with platforming. I really want to try it.

http://bulk2.destructoid.com/ul/220958-radi.jpg

Radiant Historia: An rpg which I heard got alot of praise but became hard to find. It is almost at full price still at Amazon. I like the concept of time travel in the game to change the story. I'll give it a go at some point.

http://static.gamesradar.com/images/mb//GamesRadar/us/Games/W/World%20Ends%20With%20You,%20The/Everything%20Else/OBS1--screenshot_large.jpg

The World Ends With You: I heard this game makes good use of the touch screen and alot of my friends love it. Need to try it to see what makes it so praised.

Mega Man Zero Collection: I'll be honest, I always liked Zero more than Mega Man, I always used Zero in the X games, though it did make the games easier. Never tried these games on the GBA and now I can on the DS.

http://animeblurayuk.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/professor_layton_and_the_eternal_diva_2.jpg

The Layton Series: I always wanted to try the games but never did because I always got something else. I heard these games have some pretty good puzzles but a bit heavy on the math. I fucking hate math, but I'm willing to give it a go.

http://www.the-nextlevel.com/media/nds/castlevania_ds/castlevania_ds10.jpg

The Castlevania Games: I only played one Castlevania game and it was on the SNES and loved it I always wanted to get back into the series and heard that the DS Castlevania games are really good. They are still cheap on Amazon, might need to get them soon.

http://applenapps.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/ace_attorney_phoenix_wright3.jpg

The Ace Attorney Games: From all the games I always wanted to try, it's the Ace Attorney games. I heard that the storys and cases on these games are done very well. I would get them, but heard Capcom might release them on the 3DS as a collection. Gonna wait to see if that does happen if not I'll get them on the DS.

So that's my list, are there any DS games you want to try? Thanks for reading and later.

Ace Attorney is second only to Pokemon for my favorite series on the DS...hell, my favorite portable series really. Aliens is pretty good, but I had kind of a hard time staying interested. Ghost Trick's awesome if you like puzzle games and don't mind a heavy story emphasis that can occasionally get weird (especially towards the end).

Castlevania DoS is one of my favorite games on the system and all time, and the others are pretty damn good too (though I'm not the biggest fan of OoE). World Ends With You is awesome just because of how it makes a great game that uses every feature without feeling gimmicky. Just expect LONG stretches of dialog from time to time. Zero I have and had my fill, but the trade returns for it are pathetic. If I ever do see you in person consider it yours.

Yeah need to try the Ace Attorney games, might wait to see if that 3DS Collection ever surfaces. I'll still give Aliens a go if I see it for 5 bucks or so. And Ghost Trick, well I don't mind text heavy or weird.

Might get DoS first then, and then I'll see if I can get the rest, along with TWEWY. As for Zero, well if we ever do meet face to face one day. Or you can just send it to me, but you know I would never ask you to do that last one.

I missed out on some DS games too, most notably Okamiden.  I still want to play it, but there's all these other damn games.....

I missed out on alot too, and need to try Okamiden as well. And believe me, there are other games I want too.

I have played Monster Tale, Alien Infestation and a handful of hours of Radiant Historia and recommend them all.  They are awesome.

Well with that, it just means I have to get them now, but if only other games didn't get in the way...

I've only played a couple on this list, and those I haven't I also want to try. The DS is an amazing system with a huge library. I should pick some of these up now to catch up. I just need to avoid some RPGs for a while...

The DS was an amazing system with a huge library of games. And yeah, it's basically a haven for rpgs.

Okamiden is not a prequel, it's a sequel to the original Okami.

I'm also not a big fan of maths, but i've played (and haven't finished) the first Profesor Layton game and I actually had a good time with it. It ain't hard maths, but logic problems.

I really want to get MegaMan Zero. I had the first two games on the GBA and I liked them a lot.

Thanks for clearing that up, since it looked like a prequel to me. And good to know Layton isn't really math, since I hate math. I never played the Zero games, I'd love tot ry them though.

Like Alex said, most Layton puzzles are logic based or involve misdirection of some kind. I have finished 3 of them and my math skills are crap. Highly recommended.

Radiant Historia is one of my favourite RPGs. It's origial, it makes you think and it's  lot of fun.

Thanks, I'm not really good at math either. And I want to try Radiant Historia too, I liked the concept they were going for.

Of the games you listed, I've only played the Castlevania games and the original GBA versions of the games that make up the Mega Man Zero Collection. Honestly even though I still own them, I was really considering picking up the collection anyway.

Always wanted to try out The World Ends With You.

Need to try the Castlevania series, I almost picked it up years ago, well DoS but didn't have enough for it. Need tot ry the Zero games too. And TWEWY

I agree with your list pretty much, except for Layton (math? hmm...) Radiant Historia (willing to try TWEWY, but not much for RPGs).

I can attest to Ghost Trick and the Castlevania being really fun. I'm on chapter 5 or 6 of Ghost Trick, love the humor and puzzle solving.

I finished Portrait of Ruin a long time ago (pretty fun, but also kinda standard in a lot of ways), currently about at the halfway point of Order of Ecclessia (hard, may start over) and just bought Dawn of Sorrow (so far seems to be the best, but that magic trick thing with the stylus is difficult for me) as far as Castlevanias on DS.

From the comments, it seems that Layton isn't really math. Need to try RH and TWEWY. And Ghsit Trick. I need to pick up the DS Castlevania games too, and seems like DoS is the best one.

You definitely need to try Okami-den and Ghost Trick.  Double goes for Phoenix Wright, my favorite series on the DS handheld.

I know, I need to try all those games. Especially the Ace Attorney games.

Okamiden is a game I've put off for too long.  I should of got it a long time ago.

I didn't like The World Ends with You or Radiant Historia.  I just couldn't get into them.  At the time I played them, I felt they were more work than fun.  Many people love them though.

I finished all the Castlevania 3DS games.  One of them was very difficult at the end.  I don't remember which.  The were all fun to play.

Ghost Trick is a great game.  I own Mega Man Zero Collection, but I hadn't played it yet.  I own a Layton game and I Ace.  I would like get the other games in those series.

You have a couple games on your list I hadn't heard off.  I guess I have more DS games to buy. Smile

Need to get Okamiden too. And need to try TWEWY and RH. I need to get those DS Castlevania games too. Heck I need to play all those games. And yeah, too many games huh?

From what I've played of one Professor Layton game, the math seemed pretty light. And the hint system is pretty generous anyway.

You should consider checking out Alien. It has such thick tension that it bares no comparison to almost any other horror movie I've seen.

Captain N

Good to know, since I told people here that I hate math. And will do on Aliens, I really want that one.

I have most of the DS games I want to try now like Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, and Fighting Fantasy: Warlock of Firetop Mt. but I still don't have Chrono Trigger and the Golden Sun remake.
