About some days later or so and just as I bought the last Humble Indie Bundle, a weekly bundle came in the form of games for an organization promoting girls to work on videogames. I was interested in the bundle from the get-go, since it had The Cat Lady and Long Live The Queen, games I had on my wishlist and l was interested in playing. The other games included Lilly Looking Through (who our beloved staff member Matt Snee reviewed), Ms. Splosion Man and two games I didn't know before called Defender's Quest: Valley of the Forgotten and The Yawhg, which after seeing their trailers, I got interest in them. Valdis Story: Abyssal City was also on the pack as the top tier reward, but because I already had that game, I went with the first two tiers only. I just bought the pack about 10 minutes ago and there's only ONE day left, so if you're interested, go right here.

On another gaming side, I also bought Pac-Man Champioship Edition DX when it was free to play for a limited time. It looked cool back when I saw the gameplay three years ago or so and from what I could play, it is indeed quite great. I've been also playing Hammerwatch and Portal 2. From the former, the combat is good, it's inmersive and has a great soundtrack. As for Portal 2, I can tell that it is quite becoming another masterpiece. As some of you know, I love the first Portal, so I was excited to play the sequel. What can I say, so far the atmosphere is still excellent, Glados is as creepy and menacing as ever, the puzzles have been a blast and I can tell why everybody and their mama loves Wheatly. Only time will tell if it ends up becoming much better than the first game.

Well, take out your pumpkins and candy, cause October has begun! Even this morning it was deeply foggy, as to remind us Halloween is coming.

I'm still thinking on what to do in the spirit of this season. I've been thinking on maybe go back again to Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Lone Survivor just to have something to get scared, maybe download the original Slender. Maybe try on a scary movie, though I doubt I can find the ones I want to watch here unless I go for the internet piracy route. Oh well, i'll think of something.

That's all for today. Happy spooky month!

what is Hammerwatch?

It's an isometric action game similar to Gauntlet were you take your fantasy class character though a castle to escape, collect loot and beat bosses.

Both, single and multi.

It's also an indie and has pixel graphics.

I used to play a lot of Gauntlet on my NES back in the day.  great game, though a little annoying in some respects.

I don't remember that song you posted specifically, but it brought me back to October in grade school.

I still need to play the rest of the first Portal. I might start The Cat Lady, since mothman gave it to me.

You should play Portal. I know your disdain for mouse and keyboard controls, but they are great in Portal.

I mean, it work with my PC controller. I wouldn't hate those controls if I had an actual mouse as opposed to a laptop trackpad.

Now I see. No one plays with the trackpad, ever! Tongue Out

If you like games like Gauntlet or any of those hack-n-slash games, you will definitely enjoy the game. Your only limitation would be your PC....

Happy Spooky month. I played through FEAR 3 last week already so my celebration of Haloween season is off to a quick start.

I ended up liking Portal 2 even more than the original. It would be too reductive for me to call the first game a proof of concept since it's quite a complete and amazing experience, but Portal 2 is like that indie concept getting fleshed out into a AAA game. Portal 2 is the best Portal sequel I could've ever hoped for, it knocked the design and production out of the park on all fronts. Great single player campaign, fanstastic and unique two-player cooperative campaign. I was super satisfied with how everything in Portal 2 turned out.

Happy Spooky month to you Michael.

I forgot to mention how Portal 2 felt familiar with the first game, with the first basic gunless puzzles, the return of the gun, and such. However, I can already tell that they indeed brought the production values to its maximun and it feels like it's going to be a bigger game. I can't wait to continue.
