e cig

It's Sunday here and I'm watching the Colts and Bengals face off here, as the Eagles have the Bye week, and aren't playing until next week.  I'm mostly looking forward to the Chiefs/Chargers game later, as I've been rooting for a Philip Rivers Superbowl.  Then there's the San Francisco / Broncos game so that will be exciting too.  I love football.

Anyway, as you can see, I have become fed up with my smoking, so I decided to try E-cigs.  So far I'm pretty impressed and they work well.  Unlike gum or the patch, you're still holding them and inhaling nicotine, and it's very close to the original experience.  I smoked only 3 real cigs yesterday, as opposed to the normal twenty, so I have been doing pretty good.  I REALLY need to quit, so maybe this will take.  As long as I even cut down it will be a start, as I smoke way too much.

It's quite warm here today, probably about 85 degrees or so.  I've got the windows open and the sun is pouring into my room.  I've mostly been playing Xenogears these past few days, and enjoying it despite the difficulty.  I really like the story and it's been making a lot more sense than the last time I played it.  It's kind of like putting on a favorite sweater, and it's warm and comfy.

Otherwise, I downloaded Knytt Underground as part of Sony's flash sale yesterday, and played it a bit.  It's like a 2D exploration game..  I hesitate to use the term metroidvania, as that's played out, but it does have similarities to that style.  The control isn't the tightest, but I'm getting used to it, and my only complaint is the text is almost too small to read.  It was originally a PC indie game, and the levels are large but the characters and items are small relatively, so...

I don't know if I'll get any game playing today as it's Sunday and football, but tomorrow I hope to get back to Pier Solar and finish off Knytt Underground for review.  I also have to edit my reviews for Natural Doctrine and Valiant Hearts before they get posted on Pixlbit.

I've mostly been listening to music, as usual, and have been thinking about what sort of music I want to make again.  I think i'm gonna go with pure composition, and try to make it as classical styled as I can, rather than doing rock or folk anymore.  I want to do instrumental stuff that's just pure music.

Anyway, that's pretty much it.  How are you all doing?  What have you been doing this weekend?  Are you watching football like me, or are u playing video games??

20 cigarrettes? Dang ol' dang, man!

And I'm watching the Packers anihilate the Panthers and I hope to watch the Cowboys anihilate the Giants next.

Actually, they just switched to Rams vs Seahawks due to the one-sided nature of the Packers game, so I might get some cleaning done before the Cowboys. Might play Limbo tonight after I get some work done.

Since you mention the Castlevania style, I may see if I can find Castlevania Chronicles online. Not a metroidvania, but it looked pretty good in the video NSonic79 posted.

yeah I know man, I have to quit.

yeah that packers game was pretty sad.  that seems to be happening a lot this year.  That seahawks ending was a little surprising though.

I haven't played Castlevania games for a long time.

Really? The games I've watched have all been pretty close. That Lions and Saints game just now, the Sehawks vs. Rams (not sure how I feel about that non-review at the end) just now and just about every game last week (very last minute for Packers in Miami especially and I had fun watching the Cowboys upset the Seahawks) I watched looked pretty well-fought. The Packers game today is the first blowout I've seen in a while. Pretty much all the games I watch come on Fox, maybe it's different on other channels. Heck, even the Notre Dame game I watched on CBS at the bar last night looked like it was gonna turn around at the last second. Too bad it didn't, but I had way too much food and drink to complain too much.

Anyway, good luck with everything music and quitting and travel wise and all!

yeah there's been close games, but there's been a lot of blowouts too, especially with the thursday night games.  Most recently the eagles blew out the giants, and before then the patriots blew out the bengals, and then the patriots had been blown out by the chiefs, etc.  There have definitely been a lot of close games, but more blow outs this year than I think last year.  I think there's a lot of crappy teams this year.

Only Thursday game I watched was Jets vs. Pats and that was close as well. I'd have to look at all the games to see whether there has been more close games or more blowouts.

It's been unusually hot this weekend on Belgium, which is apparently weird at Fall. I don't mind it though, it's pretty nice.

I like fall weather too.  Our winter is like other people's falls.

I'm watching the Broncos/9ers game soon too, I'm from Colorado so you can guess who I'm rooting for lol. I'm not too crazy about it though. Football's fun to watch so I always tune in, but the only sport I'm actually crazy about is hockey.

Hope the e-cigs help you cut back how you want to, it sounds like it's going well so far. This weekend I finished all my homework on Friday, so Saturday and Sunday I've been playing Dragon Age Origins for the first time. Fantastic game so far, so I'm trying to binge on it as much as possible before the week starts again.

yeah I'm watching that now... Broncos are killing them.  I wish I was more into hockey, but I just have never gotten into it.  I'd like to though.

Yeah, the e cigs are a blessing so far.

I love DAO.  I haven't finished it yet, but I put in like 40 hours.  I kind of did things in the wrong order, and now can't beat a boss.

Saints just can't make a play with the game on the line this season.  Today they should've won, but they let Detroit off the hook.  The Nfc South sucks this year, so they might still make the playoffs, but any hope I had of them being a good team is gone already.  And their schedule isn't doing them any favors.  If you're an Eagles fan, I'm glad Darren Sproles and Malcolm Jenkins are making an impact for your team.  I don't really care for the Eagles, but those are two good guys and both deserve success.

yeah I feel bad for the Saints.  I don't know what's up with them this year.  I figure they'll get back into it eventually, if not this year then another.  Brees is too amazing.

Man, that's like a pack a daySurprised. Hope it works out cause that is not healthy or cheap. I have been hounding my brother for years to quit. He finaly did 6 months ago then broke his foot at work and he ended up relapsing. Now my best friend is trying to quit, she was considering the e-cigarettes too. I'm so glad I kicked that habit (twice!) before it got it's hooks too deep.

Just beat new Borderlands today and started a couple new characters. Much shorter & easier than the first two games but still a lot of fun. As for old school rpg's I have been thinking about going back and finishing my game+ run through Chrono Cross. Was listening to the soundtrack at work the other day and it got me wanting to play again.

Anyway don't give up on quiting smoking, you'll be healthier and wealthier for it!

yeah it's a terrible habit.  I really want to quit.  It's about time.

Damn, you beat Borderlands already?  How long was it?  I hope you had fun.  I've never been able to get into those, but I haven't tried very hard either.

Never played Chronocross, but I really want to.

I kind of pushed through it so it should be for most people 30-35 hours. I skiped any low level subquest. That said I was able to finish a few missions a level or two above me which would have been hard to impossible in the first two games. But I think it will be much more challenging once I start True Vault Hunter mode. Right now I just want to beat it once through with everyone to see which character I like best.

Good stuff, Snee!  I hope you kick the habit with relatively little irritation.

I hope so too, man.  This is definitely the most painless way I've tried so far.

Glad the e-cig is working for you so far, Matt. I've never smoked, but I'm the child of two heavy smokers and the second-hand smoke did a number on me - I have asthma and allergies as a result.

I missed the only football game I cared about watching. Forgot the Patriots were playing on Thursday night.

As for gaming - spent Saturday night playing Sleeping Dogs and Sunday night playing South Park: The Stick of Truth.

I smoked for 10 years, but quit 8 years ago using the patch.  I occasionally smoke ecigs when I go out.  I used Blue for awhile but the quality varies a lot.  I suggest an ego 650 with liquid juice.  I think I paid $10 for mine on newegg (mine is a Viking, but there a bunch of brands of the same device).  The juice is cheap and it works so much better and is consistant.  Good luck on quitting.  The ecigs have no tar so they are significantly better for you.

Wait 20? Well I'm glad you cut that down to 3 e-cigs. I'm not a smoker but I have friends who are and always post their vape setups. Do e-cigs use the same liquid stuff?

As for football I seem to catch a game here and there usually parts before I either go watch the Cowboys, or find some random movie on TV. I seem to sit down and watch more college games this year.

Theres different types of e cigs and i dont know how they all work yet.  But i think they mostly use liquid.

Yeah i smoke too much.  Gotta quit.

Still not sure about those e-cigs. I remember how they were marketed as a means to quit but now their a smoking alternative. at least that's what I've seen in all the stores I see when I go shopping.

Well they cant be as bad as real cigs....
