E3 is DWI...

Having never really followed E3 myself, I have no feelings either way. I know that a lot of you realy liked it, though, so I'm sorry it's DOA.

Thanks for the recommendation, Cary! I think I looked at that one and wondered about it. I'll add it to my wishlist.

Moldy Oldies: Infocom Interactive Fiction

Posted on 06/29/2022 at 09:55 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I had the Infocom 10 Year Anniversary Collection, Zork, and Enchanter. I remember getting frustrated about the command interface and typing "Go fuck yourself" and being chided "such language from an adventurer" in Zork by the computer. Good times!

It's my second dive into SaGa Frontier. I have for it the PS1 , too. I just never finished it back in the day. I think buying a PS2 distracted me at the time. Who knows, it feels like a million years ago.

I'm having fun with the remaster, too. I'm just so easily distracted these days. As you know, the kitten keeps me pretty sleep deprived. Between that and being back at the park, I'm pretty much exhausted by the end of the day.

I have left my island to its own devices for two weeks. I have barely scratched the surface of Happy Home Paradise and I really want the last five missing pieces of art for my museum. I have all the bugs, fish, and fossils, so it seems a shame to to complete my museum collection. Also, I've been redesigning some stuff on my island that I've meant to do for a long time. When I get it looking like I've always wanted it to, then I might stop.

And yes, the TellTale games are good. I bought a bunch on your recommendation years ago and have been slowly working my way through them.

I have both SaGa Frontier and Chrono Cross for the PS1, I just never finished them. And I actually played Chrono Cross before I played Chrono Trigger.

I like Ori so far. My nephew loved both of them and got me the set for Christmas. He's got a pretty good handle on what I like for games, so I'm going to play through them, even if I have to rage quit a few times.

Thanks. Life got complicated and stressful there for a while. I realized a couple of months ago that I really missed writing. About games, about nature, and all the little stupid stuff that happens in my life.

Comfort Food Games for Christmas

Posted on 12/02/2020 at 04:07 PM | Filed Under Blogs

Animal Crossing has definitely been my comfort food game of the year. It was the game that finally made me decide to get a Switch (I spent three and a half months trying to find one before I got lucky). A few of my friends and I have been having meet ups on each other's islands, whch has been fun. Too bad there isn't voice chat (well, I guess there is, if you use the smartphone app, but I don't have a smartphone). Other games that have been my comfort games are the Ratchet & Clank franchise and Sleeping Dogs. And although I played DQ XI on my PS4, I really want the Switch version, because I missed the orchestral soundtrack from DQ VIII.
