During the 80s and 90s, my favorite co-op games with my friends were beat'em ups like Double Dragon, Bad Dudes, and Final Fight. My brother & I love playing Super Spike V'Ball (NES). We play that game together every year and still have loads of fun with it. We hadn't beat the World Tournament in years though.
The first DQ I played was DQ8 (PS2). I didn't finished it and thought it was too long. That was many years ago. I enjoy rpgs a lot more these days. The first DQ game I played, enjoyed, and finished was DQ9 (DS). Then I started collecting the other DS games. I finished DQ6, then DQ4, and the DQ5. I enjoyed them all. Now, I'm playing DQ7 (3DS). I'm almost finished with it and then I start DQ8 (3DS).
Never played Rocket Slime, but I remembering it looking cool. Isn't there a sequel to that game?
I'm hoping I can finish up DQ7 over the weekend so I can start DQ8. I'll save SMT4: Apocalypse for later.
My daughter and I were talking about this game this morning. She did't remember playing it, but I know she had. I told her what the game was like and she just looked confused. Maybe she hadn't play it? 
It looks like a cool game. Sadly, I have a flip phone. 
A few days ago, I bought Song of the Deep (XB1) at GameStop without really knowing much about it. I played a couple hours of it and it's pretty good. If you like story and exploration, you may like Song of the Deep. AND, it's only $10! 
From what I played so far, the main character is a little girl. Her father went out fishing (or something) on his boat and didn't come back. She builds a submarine and goes out to sea to find him.
I didn't finish Strange Journey either! I got to the last boss, it instant killed me a few times, and I just quit. I really hate instant kills. It's cheap ass b/s that I just can't stand.
I read somewhere that the other games are harder and if your characters die, they stay dead. Awakening had the option to turn that feature off. Do the other games have that option too? I don't want my characters to stay dead. I like pairing them off and watching them have kids.
The only Fire Emblem game I played was Awakening (3DS). That's a great game.
I forgot about this remake. I never played the original.
