Konami announced today that Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will also be released in a limited edition for both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. The limited edition of the game will include a 248 page artbook and specialized packaging created by Yoji Shinkawa, the series' lead artist.

No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise Review

“OK” just doesn't cut it this time.

No More Heroes looked like an intriguing game when it came out on the Wii, but after playing it I wasn't too impressed. You play as the badass Travis Touchdown and your simple goal is to kill everyone in your way until you are number one. The gameplay was interesting and the story and characters were entertaining, but these just sugarcoated a fundamentally flawed game. Upon hearing about this remake, subtitled Heroes Paradise, I hoped that it would all be smoothed over. Again I walked away disappointed.

Zone of the Enders 3DS Revealed?

A mysterious tweet from Hideo Kojima reveals what might be the next Zone of the Enders title.

Yesterday, Hideo Kojima posted a mysterious tweet that depicted an image with a Jehuty Orbital Frame and a logo for what appears to be Zone of the Enders 3DS. The acronym representing the game, ZOE, is shown with its direct mirror to the right, which closely resembles 3DS.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Resurrection Review

Lords of Shadow's DLC conclusion is a misstep

Unlike its predecessor, this second DLC pack is a tough sell. You’re essentially shelling out $9.99 for a boss fight, and one that, if you’re incredibly skilled at the game, will take you less than hour. I am apparently not that great because I was close to quitting out of rage.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Reverie Review

Lords of Shadow takes you back to Carmilla's castle for a decent DLC debut.

Reverie was the first DLC released for Lords of Shadow and is, in my opinion, the more worthwhile of the two. Picking up literally right after the end of the core game, we find Gabriel Belmont contemplating the recent events of his life, when the voice of Laura, the little vampire in Carmilla’s castle, invades his mind and begs him to return to the castle. Gabriel, though disenchanted with the world, decides to heed her call and heads off.

Tour de 64: Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness

Konami is the only company with the gall to remake an N64 game on the N64.

Castlevania: Legacy Darkness may be the first and only remake where the original title appears on the same system. Though it may seem a bit strange to label this game a remake of the first Castlevania on the Nintendo 64, nothing else fits the circumstances. It isn't the same game with a couple bonus features and characters, so Director's Cut doesn't work. Neither do Special Edition or any other type of Edition, as there isn't a single feature to define it from the previous title. Instead, everything about the game, from the level designs to the physics to the graphics, has been altered, tweaked, or improved in some way. The result is an enjoyable, atmospheric adventure, though it isn't without a couple snags.

PrE3 PlayBit 2011 - Arcade Beat-'em Ups

Nick, Chessa, and Jason R perform a special recorded PlayBit with some classic arcade beat-'em ups. Watch and listen for The Simpsons Arcade, Turtles in Time Arcade, and X-Men Arcade as well as talk of the upcoming E3!

As has become tradition, part of the PixlBit crew has gotten together for a PlayBit before E3! This year we've decided to do things a bit differently. Rather than broadcast live, we decided to record our play session and post it so that anyone can see it, regardless of their schedule.

Konami announces HD remakes of Metal Gear Solid, Zone of the Enders, and Silent Hill

Yes... you’re reading that headline correctly.

To much surprise, tucked in the middle of Konami’s Pre-E3 Conference video was the reveal of the “Metal Gear Solid HD Collection.” The package will feature MGS 2, MGS 3: Snake Eater and MGS: Peace Walker. Oddly enough, Metal Gear Solid wasn’t included, so Twin Snakes might be the most “HD” experience for players. Leaving that fact aside, the collection will not only be available for the PS3, but the 360 as well and will support 1080p graphics. Don’t worry though MGS purists; PS3 looks to be the system to own it on. The PS3 will get an exclusive feature, labeled “Transfarring,” which allows players to stop a game in progress, transfer their Peace Walker game file to a PSP, and continue where they left off.

Tour de 64: Castlevania

The Tour de 64 returns with a 3D take on a classic series.

Often referred to as “Castlevania 64” to distinguish it from the NES game, Castlevania is the first 3D entry in the long-running series. Many of the series' staple enemies and weapons are present, as well as some new twists brought on from the transition. I don't have much experience with the Castlevania series myself, but what's here is a decent adventure with a sometimes chilling atmosphere that provides enough excitement to be worthwhile.
