WWE All Stars Review

I can smell what THQ is cookin', but it needs a little more time in the oven.

I've basically been a wrestling fan three times in my life. When I was ten, I first discovered the (then) WWF, and loved to watch Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, and "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka. I got pulled back in around 1998 with the release of WWF Warzone for the PSX, and came to enjoy The Rock, Triple H, and The Hurricane. Most recently I've gotten back into the wrestling scene, thanks to some entertaining people like John Morrison, Kofi Kingston, and CM Punk. So, while I haven't been a wrestling fan the entire time, I can appreciate what THQ has done with WWE All-Stars: a game that takes all of those eras and allows those wrestlers to go toe to toe.

Game Informer Reveals South Park: The Game

A full scale RPG from THQ and Obsidian is on the way.

South Park has had a storied history in gaming. Back on the N64, PlayStation, and PC, Iguana Entertainment brought fans a first person shooter that carried some of the charm that made the show a hit. Later, it was followed by a racing game, South Park Rally, and a trivia game, Chef's Luv Shack. After that, the IP went dormant until Let's Go Tower Defense Play on XBLA, which is still to be followed by a four player, co-op platformer. While these small downloadable games are making a splash with players, they pale in comparison to what THQ and Obsidian have announced to be bringing to the market.

Saints Row: The Third Review

It's so absurd that it's hard to be offended by these Saints.

It only takes about 15 minutes to get an idea of what exactly Saints Row: The Third is about.  Actually, let me rephrase that.  It only takes about 15 minutes to understand that Saints Row: The Third is as illogical as it can possibly be without the dialogue being performed completely in pig latin.  The ends don’t justify the means here.  The means unapologetically justify themselves and you should just be glad that you get the pleasure to tag along.  In just 15 minutes you’ll commit mass murder dressed as a bobblehead, ride a bank vault being yanked into the air via helicopter, and jump out of a jet with your guns blazing.  There is no real justification for any of this, except that it’s fun to be absurd.

Details on Saints Row Season Pass Revealed

Get three mission packs and some vampy threads for one lump sum.

As publishers try to circumvent the whole used market rigamarole, some ideas fall flat and anger consumers (see: Batman Arkham City) while others seem to stick. The online passes have been a controversial step taken recently, and you can read our thoughts about that subject in our roundtable discussion. But the Season Pass is a relatively new concept that has gained traction recently thanks to Mortal Kombat and Gears of War 3. Saints Row the Third will be going the Season Pass route as well, and we have the first details on what you’ll be getting and how much you’ll pay.

Saints Row 4 Confirmed

You read that right, the next game in the Saints Row series has been confirmed less than a week before the release of The Third.

Next week sees the release of Saints Row: The Third, the crazy sandbox organized crime game that filled in the void left by Grand Theft Auto when Rockstar decided to go in a more mature and socially relevant route with GTA IV.  It’s no surprise that the series has done well and THQ and the crew expects that this will be the biggest Saints Row yet.  They have so much faith, in fact, that THQ’s own Danny Bilson has revealed that a fourth entry in the series is already in the works.

Saints Row: The Third Preview

People are strange in Saints Row: The Third.

There isn’t anything quite like Saints Row: The Third.  Sure, it may seem like a blatant rip-off of the hugely successful Grand Theft Auto franchise, but there is so much more to Saints Row than the open world and warring gangs.  Simply put, there is something wrong with Saints Row: The Third, and I mean that in the best way possible.

Space Marine Co-Op DLC Available Today

Called Exterminatus, Space Marine's huge DLC installment won't cost you anything.

Space Marine was released last month without any form of cooperative play available.  It may have seemed like an oversight at the time, but THQ promised that it would be adding it shortly after launched.  Today they keep their promise and it won’t cost you a dime.
