BloodRayne: Betrayal Review

A bloody good time.

Usually the thought of having to write up a BloodRayne review would induce crippling migraines and the erratic uttering of various four letter words that I can’t type here for obvious reasons; so bad have the previous installments been. But in this particular case I must admit I was intrigued and even a bit excited to get my hands on this particular title. Why you ask? Well because this game was made by WayForward Technologies, the California based developer responsible for bringing Contra back to its roots with Contra 4 on the Nintendo DS.

Thor: God of Thunder Review

The epitome of what a game shouldn't do.

I've had the pleasure of not having to play many terrible games. Unfortunately for me, Thor: God of Thunder added to my personal short list of gaming atrocities. Movie games are notoriously bad, and Thor does nothing to break the mould. With frustrating gameplay choices, unresponsive controls, mediocre graphics and presentation and to top it off, impossible scenarios that prohibit players from being able to finish the game, Thor is full of problems that result from rushed development.

Centipede: Infestation Hands On Preview

Humans are involved, but it's not what you think.

WayForward Technologies is remaking the arcade classic on Wii and 3DS with 3D environments and new features. No longer limited by an invisible ceiling like in the original, players can run all around the enclosed arenas with the nunchuk while aiming the Wii remote and blasting away with the B button. Thus far in the game's development, the only other move is a stomp (done with A or C) and the D-Pad is for changing weapons. Whether there will be a jump to aid in dodging or exploration/adventure elements is still undecided at this point. I saw very few mushrooms and destructible barriers; hopefully they'll be added in the next several months of development.

Thor: God of Thunder Review

Trying to say "Sorry, Thor Wii" 3x fast is more fun than playing it.

I can't tell you any of Thor Wii's characters, plot, goal, bad guy, or setting. None of it made sense (and I played it all the way through)! While it certainly isn't for those unfamiliar with the movie or comic books, it's at least passable as a beat-em-up/brawler.

A Boy and His Blob Review

I'm glad they took out the level where the boy and the blob escaped from authorities on a bicycle.

A Boy and His Blob originated as a unique side-scrolling game made by Activision co-founder and Pitfall creator David Crane for NES in 1989. The series made a pit stop on Game Boy in 1990 and languished in development hell for years, with both a Game Boy Advance and DS game announced and cancelled. Finally, the series is returning with WayForward's animated take on the story of how a boy and his blob saved Bloblonia.
