It's hard to see the line when it's drawn in the shifting sand...
When the creative minds of game designers come up against the practical, business-focused minds of game publishers it can lead to endless frustration. This frustration is shared by the consumers, wanting a unique gaming experience but also needing that experience to be something that they can instantly click with. This frustration is the crux of my feelings for Spec Ops: The Line, a game that pushes narrative into some refreshingly interesting places, but stumbles with game mechanics that smack of publisher homogenization.
Four co-op missions coming soon.
2k Games announced via a press release that Spec Ops: The Line will have free downloadable co-op missions shortly after the June 26, 2012 release of the game. The content will be available to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. A demo of the game is currently available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and the game is playable on the E3 2012 show floor.
Pre-orders will be upgraded to the premium edition of the game.
Yager Developments is now ready to release Spec Ops: The Line with the announcement of the title's release date. G4 is reporting that 2k Games confirmed in a press release that the third person shooter set in a modern day conflict will be released on June 26, 2012.
