Wii Sports Resort Sells More Than 1.25 Million in U.S.

Nintendo's summer hit has blown past a million units with it's bundled peripheral, Wii MotionPlus selling close to 3 million units.

Wii Sports Resort has posted sales of 1.25 million copies and the MotionPlus has sold over 2.9 million units in the United States alone, according to statistics from Nintendo.

Of the 2.9 million MotionPlus units, 257,000 were sold with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, and 1.36 million were sold separate from any video game bundle.

As we reported earlier, a new Wii Sports Resort bundle with two MotionPlus units is coming on October 12 for $59.99. The focus of the bundle is on bargain holiday shopping that the whole family can enjoy.

I'd like to see how many the game sells at Christmas. I know it will, which is odd, seeing as it's a clear "Summer" release.
