Return to Omega, packing new weapons, and an unlikely ally.
It’s been a rough year for BioWare, especially the Mass Effect team. After the outcry of fans upset with the outcome of the epic sci-fi/RPG trilogy the team had to postpone planned DLC to work on a new ending. To quell the anger in that time, multiple free multiplayer add ons were released, and the game didn’t see its first true story-based DLC until Leviathan was released in August. It seems like the team is back on track, soldiering on after the departure of the company founders. While it won’t quite make it in time for “N7 Day”, the Omega DLC pack will be available soon, and promises to be the biggest addition to the game so far.
Remember that cheaply made Big Daddy figure? Ken Levine is gonna do right by you this time.
There are some rabid game collectors out there, and Ken Levine and his team over at Irrational Games are banking on that fact with two impressive special editions of BioShock Infinite. The Premium Edition comes with a staggering amount of swag, while the pricier Ultimate Songbird Edition includes a large and very detailed statue. If your inner Gollum is starting to mutter “precious” read on for all the juicy collector details.

Tons of original releases, Virtual Console titles, and demos are on the way.
Nintendo is known for many things, and chief among them would be their amazingly popular library of games. While that has kept the company firmly in the hearts and minds of millions of gamers, most hardcore fans would admit that the Big N hasn’t quite leveraged the digital space as well as they could. Nintendo is hoping to turn that sentiment around when it comes to the 3DS eShop. The eShop has seen some impressive original releases and some classics on the Virtual Console, but Nintendo is coming strong with a lineup of titles and content from October through the end of the year.
Atlus will localize their throwback dungeon crawler in early 2013
The title says it all - Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan will be localized for North America and is scheduled to release early next year. While this news is not likely to surprise anyone considering Atlus has localized every game in the franchise thus far, it’s still comforting to have official word from the publisher.
Kojipro is all about the bling.
Limited editions of big, triple-A games aren’t very, well, limited these days. There was a time, however, when the idea of a rare, feature-packed special edition for a game was almost unheard of. Konami helped pave the way for these collector’s gems with the Metal Gear Solid Premium Pack (Japan only) way back in 1997. Since then it’s almost expected that huge releases will have some sort of incentive for rabid fans of a franchise, but that’s not stopping Konami from doing up two of their upcoming releases with all the bells and whistles, as they just announced limited editions for both Zone of the Enders HD Collection and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
Celebrate N7 Day with the entire Mass Effect saga.
There’s good news ahead for both fans of Mass Effect and people that have been on the fence on starting the saga of Commander Shepard. BioWare and EA are kicking off a new annual event on November 7 called N7 Day. What better way to inaugurate this new celebration than an all-new collection of the series that started it all? That’s exactly what you’re going to get with the Mass Effect Trilogy, coming on N7 Eve.
23 games will be available on day one.
This morning, Nintendo clarified the specific titles that will launch alongside the Wii U. Previously, we had only known of the launch window titles; however, that launch window extended out all the way into March of 2013. Day one Wii U consumers will be able to choose from a total of 23 titles, which include the likes of New Super Mario Bros. U, Assassin's Creed 3, and Black Ops II. Well, here we are again. Today, PixlBit celebrates its 3rd Anniversary, an achievement I'm quite proud of. A little more than three years ago, Chessa and I poured our heart and soul into the creation of this website. Built from nothing, PixlBit slowly secured its place in the gaming media, and is now the site that stands before you. We've had ups and downs, several rewrites, and many staff members, but somehow we've made it this far and there's no stopping us now.
