Sega Reveals Dreamcast Collection Titles

An underwhelming set of four that will all be available via digital download anyway.

Yesterday, Sega revealed the titles to be released on their upcoming Dreamcast Collection title. The disc, meant to be a revival of the beloved system, is set to house a mere four titles. These four titles are games that have already been released or scheduled for release on XBLA and PSN.

Totally inSANE THQ & Guillermo del Toro Game Collaboration Announced

THQ has announced a new collaboration of games with renowned director Guillermo del Toro. The first is expected to release in 2013.

THQ and Guillermo del Toro, director of the films Pan's Labyrinth and Hellboy, have revealed their intentions to collaborate in creating an original 'Triple-A trilogy' of highly cinematic games. The games, titled inSANE, are being developed by Volition, Inc. for the Xbox 360, PS3, and Games For Windows with a slated release date of 2013 for the first chapter.

Sid Meier’s Civilization Makes History: “Baba Yetu” First Piece of Music Written for Videogame to be Nominated for Grammy Award

In a gaming first according to 2K Games, the song 'Baba Yetu' for Sid Meyer's Civilization IV has been nominated for the Grammy Award “Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalists”. It was composed by Christopher Tin and also released on his full album titled 'Calling All Dawns'. The album received a Grammy nomination for “Best Classical Crossover Album.”

Atari and Sony Reveal Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime

The game will adopt a top-down shooter style of play for up-to-four simultaneous players both locally and online.

Today, Atari and Sony revealed that yet another Ghostbusters game is currently in development, titled Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime. The game will follow-up last year's successful release on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC, excluding Wii owners this time around.

New LEGO Game to Plunder Caribbean

The next LEGO game will include Jack Sparrow, Will Turner and Captain Barbossa in a high seas adventure.

Disney just revealed today the next release in the LEGO series of games will be featuring Pirates of the Caribbean. The game will focus on the three previously released films "Curse of the Black Pearl", "Dead Man's Chest" and "At World's End". Along with those films the upcoming fourth film "On Stranger Tides" is also going to be included.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Outsells Modern Warfare 2

Black Ops beat out Modern Warfare 2 day one sales. Set to surpass Modern Warfare 2's five day sales record.

Many claimed it couldn't be done by a non-Modern Warfare title, but the new Call of Duty: Black Ops has outperformed last years Modern Warfare 2 in day one sales by nearly a million copies. Last year Modern Warfare sold 4.7 million, while yesterday, Black Ops managed to sell an impressive 5.6 million copies. This was an estimated sell through rate of $360 million - a $50 million difference above what Modern Warfare 2 pulled in before.

Today ZeniMax Media Inc. has announced the acquisition of MachineGames, and new studio comprised of the founding members of StarBreeze Studios. StarBreeze is known primarily for their work on The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher's Bay.
