Dragon's Dogma Demo Will Soon Be Available

Take your pawn for a test drive

An article on Gaminformer's website revealed that Capcom will be releasing a demo for their upcoming title Dragon's Dogma.  The demo will let you try out two classes against one mythical creature each.  The strider, possibly a reference to their strider games, will pair off against a flying griffin, while the aptly named fighter takes on a chimera.

Microsoft Releases White Xbox 360 Kinect Bundle

The package comes with two family friendly games.

Microsoft released the Xbox 360 Special Edition 4GB Kinect Family Bundle today for $299.99. The bundle includes a glossy white Xbox 360 4GB console, white Kinect sensor, white Xbox 360 wireless controller, a three month Gold subscription to Xbox Live and a copy of Kinect Sports and Kinect Adventures.

HBO Go App Coming to Xbox 360 April 1

The previously announced app is finally on its way.

Back when the new Xbox dashboard was revealed, a variety of apps were promised for the system, but not yet deliver. Among those was HBO and their HBO GO service. With February coming to a close, the app is still unavailable, but we now finally have an official release date.

Indie Games on Xbox Live Get More Exposure

The latest dashboard update gives the indie scene more attention.

Last fall, a dashboard update changed the layout of the Xbox 360 interface to the new metro style currently being used. Among the various problems the new layout presented, such as connection problems with the UFC app, was the way indie games were promoted, in that they weren't. XBLIGs were buried under various menus and sub categories, making the task of finding them a quest in itself.

Gamestop Posting Reveals Assassin's Creed Revelations DLC

Lost Archive is due for release soon.

It has been rumored that a single player expansion for Assassin's Creed Revelations is in the works, but Ubisoft has still yet to reveal even the existence of the DLC. Thanks to a Gamestop listing (discovered by Game Revolution), it's now clear that something is in fact in the works and due for release soon - very soon. According to Gamestop, Assassin's Creed Revelations: Lost Archive is slated for release on Feburary 28.

January Sales Down 34% From 2011

No new games are to blame for the lame sales figures.

The NPD group announced that its January sales figures and consumer spending on video games fell 34% to $750.6 million in the US. Hardware sales totaled $324 million, down 38% year over year. According to G4, these are the worst sales figures since January 2004.

Major Nelson released via on Twitter the Xbox Live activity statistics for the week of January 30, 2012. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 continues to be the most played game online while the late release of The Simpsons Arcade Game topped the XBLA sales chart.

The Limited Edition Xbox 360 bundle will be released the same day.

Kinect Star Wars was delayed from its release date last holiday, as was the limited edition Star Wars Xbox 360 bundle. No word on when gamers will see the title was announced but now a new release date has been confirmed.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 Director Talks About the Controversial Ending

More DLC is on the way to help explain what happens at the end.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 was intended to right the wrongs of its predecessor, and it did a pretty good job of that, even if it faltered in spots. One of those problem areas was with the game’s ending. We don’t like to spoil story here at PixlBit, but for this  news story it is necessary.
