Spotto! Review

A simple yet charming puzzle game.

One of the most prevalent genres on DSiWare is the puzzle genre. Thankfully, not many titles that belong to this genre feel like are duplicates. Spotto!, the latest DSiWare game from Nintendo and Intelligent Systems, is a prime example of a unique puzzle title that is full of charm and small touches that will make it endearing to gamers, especially at just $2.

Grill-Off with Ultra Hand! Review

Who knew you could use one of Nintendo's oldest toys to grab meat?

Grill-Off with Ultra Hand! is one of the latest prizes featured in Club Nintendo. The WiiWare game is a digital representation of a classic Nintendo-themed trinket. Ultra Hand is the inspiration for the game, a toy that Nintendo created in the late ‘60s before the company was involved in the video game industry. Even though Grill-Off with Ultra Hand! is currently the cheapest prize available on Club Nintendo, it's one of the better prizes offered to the Nintendo loyal.

Pokemon Rumble Review

Gotta catch befriend 'em all.

Pokémon is traditionally a role-playing game featuring turn-based battles; however, Pokémon Rumble shakes up the formula allowing players to interact with the creatures in real-time in a beat-‘em-up style. Further varying the equation, the Pokémon appearing in Rumble are actually toy versions of real monsters that can’t level up, evolve, or learn new attacks. Furthermore, the toys only have two attacks rather than the traditional four.

MLB 2K10 Review

An improvement from last year, but the experience is still flawed.

With the 2010 MLB season back in full swing, 2K Sports has released the latest in their baseball line, MLB 2K10. Given the past few years being a disappointment, MLB 2K10 offers a brand new look, new modes, and updated rosters. Though this is taking a huge step in the right direction, the game still has a few problems.

Dead or Alive Paradise Review

The boobastic ladies of Dead or Alive are back once again to show off their endowments for your pleasure.

I should start this review off with something: I’ve never played a Dead or Alive game. That said, that doesn’t mean I wasn’t prepared for what was about to hit me over the head but I can’t say that I know characters backgrounds or plot or what have you… and Paradise is definitely not the title for filling in the gaps.

Released on the PSP, Dead or Alive Paradise blatantly screams everything it’s about within the opening sequence: bosoms, butts, babes, and beach… in that order. All you have to do is slap some J-pop music on the mp3 player of your mind and I’m sure you can imagine the gratuitous T&A shots that made the opening sequence.

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars Review Rewind

Delving into his past, Phil takes on an adult perspective of a much loved childhood game.

Before the “Paper Mario” and the “Mario & Luigi” RPG series, Nintendo and Square teamed up to create what I consider to be one of the greatest RPGs of all-time. Released back in May 1996, Super Mario RPG quickly grew to be one of the highest rated SNES games of all-time and often appears on many of the “Greatest Games of All-Time” lists to this day.

WarioWare: D.I.Y. Review

WarioWare finally puts the tools in players' hands.

After many iterations of the WarioWare series focused on different control mechanics, the series has finally been taken into a new direction, one which focuses on game creation. Given the simple mini-games that comprise each game in the series, it was clear that one day players could partake in the fun; creating their own mini-games to complement those found in the game. WarioWare D.I.Y. provides players with exactly what they have been waiting for in a comprehensive, yet accessible package on the DS.

Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier Review Rewind

Never have I experienced so much jiggling, juggling, and innuendo in an RPG.

Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier is the latest title in the Super Robot Wars series to be released in North America. While countless titles in the series were released in Japan on consoles and portables, only a total of three titles in the series managed to reach North America, courtesy of Atlus. For those who aren’t familiar with the series, each title is typically a strategy-RPG that features robots from popular series such a Gundam and Mazinger Z (known as Tranzor Z in North America) along with original robot designs. However, this game is more along the lines of a traditional RPG with cameos from the Xenosaga and Namco X Capcom series. Due to the memorable themes contained in the dialog and an engaging combat system Endless Frontier stands out as a high quality RPG on the DS.

Need for Speed: Nitro Review

After a series of mediocre sequels, my "need for speed" has finally been rekindled.

The Need for Speed series had a great start many years ago, as well as a number of enjoyable sequels. Unfortunately, over time, the series lost its luster and many of the newer titles in the series were either dull or mediocre. Need for Speed Nitro is the latest game in the series, and one that EA has made specifically for Wii. While it's not as deep as a realistic racing simulation game, this fast paced arcade title is one of the better racing games on Wii.

Tomena Sanner Review

Finally, we now know what a one-button wai wai action game is.

Occasionally a game is released that can't be described due to how weird it is. Tomena Sanner is the latest zany game from Konami that is described as a "one-button wai wai action game", or in other words the whole game is controlled by one button.
