F-1 Race Review Rewind

Winning shouldn’t be this hard.

As we age, we sometimes look back on a game we once enjoyed and discover that isn’t nearly as fun as we thought all those years ago. F-1 Race is one of those games for me. Originally released in 1984 on the Famicom, Nintendo reworked a few gameplay elements for its Western release on the Game Boy in 1990. Back then, I was enthralled with the idea of racing around in a Formula One machine while battling it out for first place. Maybe it was the thrill of screaming down the track at 360 km, or perhaps it was just the excitement of playing a new Game Boy game. Whatever the case was, I thought I had gold in the palm of my hands.

Nerds Without Pants Episode 186: Nerds Without Therapists

So dark. Much self reflection.

Welcome to Nerds Without Pants, a podcast where we start talking about video games we love, and then go super dark as we face some very uncomfortable truths about ourselves. Thankfully we have Friend of the Show John Gholson on board to keep things from descending into the true depths. This is a very raw episode, but a great listen, as well.

Nerds Without Pants Episode 184: The Mod Squad

Control Alt My Feet was robbed.

Hey, it’s another episode of Nerds Without Pants! It’s a pretty good one, I think. This post is lackluster at best because I got two hours of sleep last night, which is not even long enough to sleep through this episode. That makes sense, right? Cool.

Nerds Without Pants Episode 168: 2019- At Least the Games Didn't Suck

If only you knew how much trouble Julian had getting this podcast done...

Welcome to the first episode of Nerds Without Pants recorded in 2020! That’s right, we’re back from hiatus and we have a ton of things to say about our favorite games that we played in 2019. There are some obvious games, some shockers, and some games that definitely didn’t come out last year. So, pretty par for the NWP course, eh?

This Gen, This Month, Another Year: February 2019

Money tight? Why not play an amazing game from yesteryear for cheap?

Hello again and welcome back - it's time to look at February. February seems to be a bit hit or miss this gen. If not for a pretty strong year in 2017, February may be the weakest month of the year. Though it seems like we could be making a sharp turn this year. Heavy hitters like Anthem and Metro: Exodus are out. We have the return of Crackdown and Ace Combat. Also new entries in the Far Cry and God Eater series to top it off. Past years may have seemed slower than other months but there were still games worth playing.
