My Gaming Landscape [May 3, 2012]
After a few months of plowing through various games, I've been drifting back and forth between various games. I did manage to complete Assault Heroes for XBLA during that time but that's about it that I can remember. FYI, Assault Heroes, an okay game. Fun shooter but paced a bit sluggishly. So rather than writing about what I've been playing, I'm just going to write about what I plan on playing.
I gave up on Bastion a few months ago but after trying it again a few days ago, I think I'll give it another try. From what I can tell, I think I'm about half way through the game so it shouldn't take long. I'm also going to be playing a few independent games on my 360 in preparation for an upcoming feature on PixlBit. I'll be checking out Aban Hawkins and the 1000 Spikes after hearing about the upcoming 3DS and Wii U port. From what I've seen, it's a cool retro looking title that's super hard. Beat Hazard is another title I've got. I've heard its also on the iPhone and Steam but I think it'll control well with the 360's two analog sticks. See, it's a twin stick shooter influenced by mp3 files you own either on the 360, PC via media sharing or iPod via a USB cord. It's actually pretty cool so I look forward to using different types of music in the game. I've got a diverse music library. Finally, Evil Quest is the title I'll probably recommend in the feature. It's an old school action RPG in the vein of Crystalis for the old NES.
I also recently bought some older 360 games for $25. I got Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Madden NFL 08, Forza Motorsport 2, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07, and Tomb Raider: Legend. I mentioned this in a previous blog. I still haven't chosen which game I'll focus on and I don't know if I will since I've probably got enough to play now. That's about it for now. What are you playing now? Do you like to check out Indie Games? Comment below and a fairy will leave you bacon underneath your pillow.
