Come watch the Switch Conference starting at 11:00 PM EST and do some chatting with fellow PixlBit readers!
Holy crap, PixlBit's now 7!
Well folks, believe it or not, PixlBit turns 7 years old today. Thanks to the hard work of a whole lot of people and all of you fans, we've somehow made it this far. I know some of you have been around from the beginning, others for many years at this point, and I sincerely thank all of you for making PixlBit one of my favorite spots on the internet.
Also, a lot of new hardware announcements.
I think it’s safe to say that the unveiling of the Xbox One a few years ago was one of the most tone-deaf, poorly received debuts of a video game console since, well, Sony commented that people would get a second job to afford their $599 PlayStation 3 all those years ago. Since then, Microsoft has been doing everything in its power to right those wrongs and bring their console up to the user base that the PS4 currently enjoys. This E3 continues that trend and, while there were very few surprises, the Microsoft press conference put the emphasis squarely on exclusive games and community.

This past Friday, Nintendo released its latest title in the Super Mario series. For the the first time ever, they've put the tools to create Mario games in the hands of their adoring fans. If Twitter is any indication, the world is going absolutely nuts for the title and creating puzzles in rapid succession. If you're one such player, please, use the comments of this article to share your creations with the rest of PixlBit so that we may all enjoy the fruits of your labor!
Nick and Chessa made a game and it's gone gold! Also, Steam Greenlight - vote yes (please)!
As some of you may know, Chessa and I have been working on a game for roughly the past year. We became official Wii U developers around September of last year and began the true development cycle of our first game, PixlCross. We've come a long way and as of last week, we officially submitted the game to Nintendo's certification process, Lotcheck!
PixlBit is deeply saddened by his passing.
Nintendo has reported that president Satoru Iwata passed away yesterday due to complications from a bile duct growth. The young 55 year old president took the helm of Nintendo ahead of the launch of both the Wii and DS, bringing the company great success. Unlike many who held his high ranking corporate position, Iwata's humble beginnings started in game development.
Come stop by and chat with other PixlBit members and staffers alike during this year's big show!
E3 comes once a year, bringing with it big announcements, exciting new games, and fierce competition. Even better than the announcements is chatting about them with friends and fans. As such, we've got a little live chat going right in this article for everyone to use to do just that. So stop by and chat about the show with both staff and community members!
Come share your thoughts in our fancy new forums!
Well, it's taken a while, but the work I've been doing to create PixlBit's forums is finally complete! No, we're not using some sort of out of the box tool, but hopefully you'll find these to work very much the same. The features, for the time being, are a bit on the thin side, but with your thoughts and feedback, they'll continue to become more robust over time.
So, yeah, I kind of forgot today was an important day until like five minutes ago...
Hello faithful PixlBit fans! It's been quite a while since I've had a chance to address you all, but today is as good a day as any seeing as how it's a momentous occasion and all. For all you newcomers, September 24 is PixlBit's birthday and this year we celebrate our fourth!
