Xillia Patents Spotted in Europe, US

US fans of the Tales series may have even more to celebrate.

Namco’s Tales games have been coming out for quite some time now, but Europe and North America are just now starting to get some real love from the beloved RPG franchise.  The publisher recently brought to us localizations of Tales of the Abyss 3D and Tales of Graces f, but it seems that there may be more in store for us as patents in both Europe and the U.S. have been spotted for Tales of Xillia.

Tales of Xillia was released on September 8, 2011 in Japan on the PlayStation 3 and featured animated cutscenes from Ufotable, the same studio behind the Tales of Symphonia OVA series.  The game is often hailed for its unique combat system, the Duel Raid Linear Motion Battle System (DR-LMBS), which allows characters to chain together attacks and Artes by using Assault Counter (AC) points.

A localized patent for the game is by no means a confirmation that the game will be released here, but it certainly is a good indicator that Namco thinks that bringing it over here is more likely a good move than a bad one.  Excited about the possibility of more Tales games coming to the US?  Let us know what you think of this news in our comments section below!

With Final Fantasy not being as strong of a series as it used to be, the Tales series seems to be a go to place for your JRPG fix.

Indeed. Xillia has been on my radar for a while now. Hopefully we get it here, Graces turned out good (imo) so hopefully this does as well

Any idea on the platform?  If this is another Playstation exclusive I just may start trolling MS

The original version is exclusive to PlayStation, but it's rumored that a directors cut may come out (like Tales of Graces f) and that may be available on other platforms...though that isn't likely.

I'd at least have it prepared.
