Sega Officially Acknowledges Alpha Protocol Delay

The game is set for a spring 2010 release.

After a sneaky delay, Sega and developer Obsidian have finally spoken about Alpha Protocol's last-minute delay, courtesy of CVG.

"We're very happy that Sega has made the decision to hold back the shipment of the game in order to give it the best chance at becoming the publishing success that we at Obsidian and our partners at Sega are striving for," Obsidian's Feargus Urquhart said.

The delay originally became known of through retailers and was later confirmed by an update on Sega's website the day of the game's supposed launch.

"By pushing Alpha Protocol to Spring 2010, we can ensure that the game will be released in the best commercial release window possible and will also receive the focus this true AAA titles deserves," said Alan Pritchard of Sega Europe.
