Wii-Exclusive Brawler Brings Old-School Style Together With Stunning Visuals, Epic Bosses and Dynamic Co-Op.

SAN MATEO, CA - September 22, 2009 - Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that Spyborgs" has shipped to retail exclusively for Wii". Spyborgs, Capcom's hottest new thrill ride, combines an extraordinary sci-fi world with action-packed 2-player co-op, epic multi-stage bosses, and the old-school beat 'em up feel that will satisfy fans of the genre and fans of robot destruction alike.

Spyborgs is rated by the ESRB as Teen and will be available this week on store shelves in North America for $39.99 or available now through online retailers and the Capcom E-store at shop.capcom.com.

In Spyborgs, a cybernetically-enhanced group of superheroes is set-up to be destroyed by a former team member. When players take control of the weapon-enhanced cyborgs in their pursuit of the traitor, they will come together in 2-player co-op to face over 35 stages of mind-blowing challenges packed with epic boss battles and swarms of enemies that only a team of two can defeat!

Players select two of the three Spyborg characters and use the Wii Remote" to shoot, slash and pummel their way through hordes of mechanized enemies. Designed around a team experience, in single-player mode, players will be able to strategically jump back and forth from one member of the team to the other, rapidly tackling different challenges with their unique abilities.

Kid Gloves: When Hand Holding Goes Too Far

As I was moving into the end game of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, I was tasked with finding three power couplings to unlock a door. It was a simple enough job, but in a game that had been almost entirely a linear affair, I was glad to have the rails taken off if even for a small section. It turned out that this wasn’t the case; any time I got remotely close to one of the power couplings Doktor would chime in on my codec to inform me that I was near my objective. Frowning, I destroyed the coupling and repeated the task with Doktor telling me exactly where to go and what to do. It made me realize just how much game design has changed in recent years, and what needs to be done to combat the need for constant hand holding that game designers have developed.
