Press Release - SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI: PERSONA FOR PSP SYSTEM NOW AVAILABLE IN RETAILERS ACROSS NORTH AMERICA

PlayStationNetwork VERSION TO RELEASE ON OCTOBER 1st

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA -- SEPTEMBER 23, 2009 -- Atlus U.S.A., Inc. today announced that Shin Megami Tensei: Persona for PSP (PlayStationPortable) system, the highly-anticipated remake of the first chapter in the critically-acclaimed Persona series, is now available in retailers across North America. The UMD version of the game is a Collector's Edition boxed set that includes the game's full 2-disc musical score at no additional cost (only at launch and at participating retailers). A digital PlayStationNetwork version of the game is also planned, currently scheduled for release on October 1st.

"Twelve years after Revelations: Persona for PlayStation was released in North America, Atlus is proud to return to the first chapter of the best-selling, most-acclaimed franchise in the Shin Megami Tensei universe with SMT: Persona for PSP system," stated Aram Jabbari, Manager of Public Relations and Sales for Atlus. "Remade, remastered, and fully relocalized, SMT: Persona is the definitive version of the game, with additions, enhancements, and refinements in almost every facet of the play experience. Series and genre fans shouldn't miss out on this."

Both versions have an MSRP of $39.99, but only the physical launch copies will include the game's soundtrack on 2 discs, all packaged in a premium oversized outer box.

I bought this game just yesterday, it seems pretty good so far. I was worried because the last time I bought a PSP game packaged with a soundtrack it was that bloody "Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero?" which is pretty much the worse PSP game I've ever spent 40 bucks on. I'm kind of a noob to the Persona series, but if you enjoyed 3 or 4 you should definetly check this game out. The soundtrack takes from both the new and the old. The graphics aren't as fossilized and old as they might seem in the screenshots.
