Nintendo Power Details NBA Jam for Wii

Just like the old games, the latest in the series will offer over-the-top gameplay and a unique visual style.

In the latest issue of Nintendo Power, new information was revealed for the recently announced EA Sports NBA Jam.

The Nintendo Power article revealed that the game will follow past iterations of the game closely. The game will feature only two gameplay modes, and sports a variety of new dunks and moves as well as an overhauled graphical style.

Classic Campaign, one of the two main modes in the game,is identical to all of the previous NBA Jam titles. The mode features two-versus-two teams and no official NBA rules, with the exception of goaltending and the shot clock. Each NBA team will have three players to chose from.

Remix Tour mode will feature different gameplay mechanics, rules modifications, and camera modifications. For the time being, details on the mode are scarce, but will be available soon.

The game also features a humorous graphical style for the players. For the player's faces, EA will use actual photography captures. Each player has many different faces; including three different faces while running, two slam dunk faces, and finally two different faces for emotions - one positive face and one negative face.

According to Nintendo Power, two different control schemes will be available. The first involves motion controls, while the other allows players to hold the controller NES-style and avoid motion-based controls. The article did not mention if the game is compatible with the Classic Controller.
