Redbox Wants Video Games

If everything goes smoothly, gamers will be able to rent a movie and a video game at the famous red kiosks.

Redbox, famous for their kiosks that allow consumers to rent videos for merely one dollar, is trying to convince game developers to go the same route.

Redbox has recently come under fire with big-name companies, such as Time Warner, Warner Bros., and Twentieth Century Fox, who stated that offering their product for only one dollar undermines the value of their product.

Thus, going forward in their talks with video game companies, the President of Coinstar Inc (Redbox) stated, "We are talking early and often with the content providers of games so that we start out with a much better understanding of what we're doing."

The specific game developers that Redbox is currently working with is unknown, however they have been running trials in Wilmington, North Carolina and Reno, Nevada, where they rent out games for a price of two dollars a day.
