Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll Preview

AiAi, MeeMee, GonGon, and Baby return with an added controller: the Balance Board.

Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll, the newest in the series, features most of the same ball-balancing mini-game-heavy content of the most recent console outing, the 2006 Wii launch title Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz. However, this time around the monkeys can be controlled with the conventional Wii Remote and Nunchuk or the Wii Balance Board.

Being developed by Sega Studios Japan and set for a February 2010 release, Step & Roll isn't changing the formula too much. Players will once again guide the monkeys to the goal in increasingly difficult stages, and compete in a variety of multiplayer mini-games ranging from series mainstays such as Monkey Bowling to new ones such as Seesaw Ball.

Step & Roll will also feature a new co-op mode where a second player can pick up a Wii Remote and ward off obstacles by shooting them.
