PS4 Parental Controls

I watched the local morning news here in Pittsburgh this morning and they had a story regarding parental controls on the PS4. The intention of the piece was to highlight to parents what features of the console could not be blocked. I don’t own a PS4 so maybe others know better, but they stated that it was not possible to block the Playroom feeds from other users. This sounds daft to me. I’ve read articles and seen some of the clips of what people are uploading on Playroom and some of it is certainly not safe for kids.

Does anyone else think that Sony was completely taken off guard with what people are uploading? Surely they had to realize that someone will always upload themselves in the buff. There’s always at least one!

I don’t have any kids (or plan to any time soon) so this has no impact on me but I find it strange that the Playroom was not taken into account when designing their parental controls. Patch pending I’m sure.

So, I'm not the only one who saw that.

I guess the Playroom was something Sony expected to be family friendly, which, is kind of odd. And yes, I'm sure they're going to patch it ASAP

Haha yeah good ol' KDKA. From what I read, it was basicly turned inappropriate for children almost instantaneously. Surely someone on staff saw this coming. I find it funny obviously, but I bet theres some very pissed off parents out there.

I dont even mess  with the playroom feature, So I might see about remving it. I dont have kids but for future safety atleast it wont be there. I didnt think something like that could be used poorly. Of course I havent used so I guess I dont know jack about it,lol Sony will prolly patch it to where it does have parental options.
