About Me:

Sam is a twenty-something living in upstate New York, who is currently in school going through a post-baccalaureate veterinary program, has very curly hair, enjoys a good cookie, and apparently likes referring to oneself in the third person.

More seriously, I have enjoyed video games (often precariously through other people) since one fateful Christmas back in 1989, when a certain Game Boy/Tetris bundle was introduced into the household (though I don’t recall if the term “bundle” was really around at that point in reference to video games). I still have that old gray brick… sure, only the select button works regularly and the B button operates only when the moon is full and you turn Ole Bricky on when the clock reads a prime number, but it’s really the principle of the matter. From there, I was rapidly introduced to Mortal Kombat, Super Mario Brothers, and Legend of Zelda (in that order), and my game tastes have been appropriately varied ever since.

Being a poor post-undergrad student means my video game systems are mostly firmly rooted in the last generation, so I’m fairly certain you guys can expect to see a number of “retro” reviews coming your way in the future.

Favorite Games:

Some of my favorites include the God of War, Metal Gear Solid, and Silent Hill series, for reasons I cannot fully understand. Other games like Killer7, The Neverhood, Shadow of the Colossus, Soul Reaver, and We Love Katamari also grace my list of favorites, among several others.

Favorite Music:

I tend to fancy songs over specific artists. I do tend to be more rock and alternative based in my selections though. And yes, I'll admit to loving any number of soundtracks, game or otherwise.
