Death Is Fun - This Is Why People Quit SOULS Games

tonight, i made a solid, two-hour run on the Capra Demon.  The area that bastard is lodged in is extremely close quarters; more often than not I found myself getting sandwiched between him and his undead dogs.  The enemies individually in this boss area really aren't hard..it's the combination of the three ganging up that equals swift demise.  I must've screamed expletives about 10 times out loud tonight....oddly enough though, I didn't get exasperated to the point I want to give up though.  In the past i'd have given up by now....but with every bit of progress I make, the more I want to play.

I was finally able to draw the demon near enough in order to get him to swing, then I rolled and headed for the high ground atop a staircase.  The dogs were quick to follow, and were dispatched easily with a swing of my Drake Sword.  After this, the cat and mouse began.

I simply executed some tactical rolling and was able to gain enough distance away to cast heavy soul arrows repeatedly.  The boss that had given me grief for a good portion of my evening fell before me, and I absorbed a cool 5000 souls.  Afterward, I made my way to the Valley Of Drakes, where I executed a huge dragon resting on the side of a cliff...I actually thought it was a tree as I was walking up to pillage the dead bodies near it, until I began to see movement.  I got the hell out of its puking attack range and lit him up with Soul Arrows.  No muss, no fuss.

My progress was halted in the Darkroot Basin, as I attempted to engage the three-headed hydra snake living in the water.  The projectile attacks it hurls easily depletes 3/4 of my health bar.   Rather than take another two hour tour of duty I opted to quit for the night.

On a side note, I attempted, unsuccessfully, to invade other players tonight...guess there just weren't enough people on.  It'll be easier after Christmas I'm sure, with tons of unsuspecting Souls getting the game as a gift.

Fodder.
