Alright Pixlbit, I know I've been posting a lot lately. I hope you all aren't annoyed by it. Well last night I posted that I had a dilemma between the PS3 and 360 versions of Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition and Dragon Age 2. Just to give a quick recap. I was looking for DA2 on 360 for the longest time and couldn't find it because my local GameStop stores didn't have any. The closest one was about 20 miles from me and I wasn't willing to drive that far just for a $13 game. So one of the stores finally had some, but I happened to stumble upon the Signature Edition of DA2 on PS3. I was trying to decide whether to just get the regular copy of the game on 360 since I have the Ultimate Edition of DAO on that console or get the SE of DA2 for PS3 and buy the Ultimate Edition of DAO on PS3.

Technically I don't own the physical copy of DAO Ultimate Edition. I found out that the second disc is just the dlc so I just installed all the dlc, returned the game and just got the regular copy of DAO. I figured if its just dlc, then why waste $30 on a used copy where I can just install and save $25 and buy the regular copy. The dlc works fine with it. I know its a douchey move to some people, but hey you gotta save money somehow.

Anyways, I just sucked it up and bought the Signature Edition on PS3. I also found and bought the Ultimate Edition of DAO. Oh how I wish my wallet wasn't so empty.

A quick story. At the Gamestop I go to, my friend usually works there. Supposedly he's not there anymore for whatever reason. So there was this other employee who helped me with my purchase of DA2. I asked him if the disc said Signature Edition on it. I knew it did because I watched some unboxing videos of people who purchased that edition. So I asked if he can check for the disc with the SE and he said "I doubt we'll have it. Usually customers who trade those in take all the collector's stuff that comes with it." I clearly asked if they had the actually game disc. Clearly didn't understand me. So I was looking through the games he was picking out and I saw the SE disc. He then proceeded to give me the regular game. Can't believe he was trying to pull a fast one on me just because I asked for a little more service than regular customers. I don't think checking a few more game discs is that much of a hassle.

So I let him know that the previous disc he was holding was the SE disc. If I was going to pay for the SE of the game, well dammit I was going to get it. He looked pretty upset that I got it which led me to think two things. 1. He really didn't want me to ask just for a little more help which annoyed him or 2. He probably couldn't believe they had the SE and wanted it for himself.

I know a lot of people don't like Gamestop. I'm not one of them. Personally I like the store. But from this experience, it kind of made me think twice. Maybe it was just the employee. I don't mean to offend anyone who worked or currently works at Gamestop. I used to be an employee there too back when they were actually fair with prices.

Once again, sorry for the many posts I've been putting out lately. And sorry for my long rant. Hopefully I didn't bore you guys and gals too much haha. Anyways, I want to say that's all for now but I know I might post something later today or this week.

I hope you all have a great weekend. Once again, let me know what you're currently playing and what awesome pickups you've purchased this week.

BEYOND!

that's a funny story.  I prefer to buy games online, myself.

It's always a hit or miss with Gamestops. Sometimes the employees are super cool and sometime they are super slimey. I'm going to one tomorrow but I hope they guy I remember from another time isn't there. He was on the slimey side. I really, really hate that. It ruins my experience with the place, but they have the monopoly and there's very few alternatives.

I just bought Tearaway for my Vita and then had a problem with my system which I only just fixed by the end of the day. It wouldn't turn on suddenly and I recharged it and pushed all the buttons in all the lengths of times they told me to and nothing worked. I did a little search on their support site and discovered that sometimes after an update you have to hold down the power button for a full 30 sec to reboot the system. Well, that worked, thankfully. I was about to ditch the Vita if I couldn't get this resolved. Phew!

I know what you mean. Usually whenever I go and I don't see someone I know who works there, I try not to find a game where I can be picky with (when it comes to if the disc is in good condition or if the game comes with the actual case with box art and manual) and just buy a game I want to try out.

I went today to see if I can get the CE of Shin Megami Tensei IV because I asked an employee who kind of knows me to put it on hold, but there was an employee whom I didn't know and is always annoying whenever I go to that store ringing up customers and just kept talking about promotions, sales, membership etc. I know it's mandatory to tell customers that, but if the employee sees you regularly they're always cool with you and know you just want to walk in, get your game and walk out. It sucks because the line was already long to begin with and he just kept taking his damn time. So I just had to leave. Hopefully the CE of SMTIV will still be there tomorrow. Can't walk away from getting that edition for $20!

These guys sometimes forget about customer service and just read the script every darn time. Did they forget about how to keep customers? It's by not badgering them so much for preorders and such. Some of these guys are just supremely selfish. They get some kind of incentive for doing it so they push like crazy to make themselves some money, or kudos with the manager, or whatever they get for selling preorders, insurance or whatever. If I get that kind of treatment, I just don't come back. . . ever.
