Hey Pixlbit bloggers!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far. Sorry for the cheezy title. I haven't been doing that much pick ups recently due to the fact that Destiny is just 3 days away!! I cannot tell you how excited I've been since they announced this game last year at E3. I love the Halo franchise and the Borderlands series even more. Put those two together and you get Destiny. What's not to love about that?!
I know some people have different tastes, but this game is a definite buy. Probably saying that a little early before release but from my experience with it, I know I'll love the game. This past week, a buddy of mine and I were discussing about the different editions that were coming with Destiny. If you remember a while back, I mentioned that I pre-ordered the Ghost Edition when it was first announced. I saved up a lot and traded some games in so I can pay it off. Well about a week ago, my friend and I decided it would be better to get the Digital Guardian Edition. Now if you don't know what that is, i'll bring you up to speed. The Digital Guardian Edition is the digital version of Destiny that includes the Expansion Pass(which is basically the season pass), the Collector's Edition pack, the Vanguard Armory Pack and some exclusive in-game content.
Why did I switch you may ask? Simple. To save money. Over the years I've been getting a lot of collector's editions for games. e.g. Gears of War 3, Grand Theft Auto V, all of the CoD games etc. I'm at the point where I realize I don't need all those physical collectable items. It's more of a want. Throughout the years of collecting, I've filled up about half of the space of my closet with all the statues, art books, little figures and boxes that those games come with. That's where they end up. Back in the box and in my closet.
So I thought to myself "Do I really want to spend another $150 on a collector's edition that will sit in my closet again?" No. It was hard for me(as a collector) to cancel my pre-order on this, but I did it. Sounds kind of lame right? It is haha. So I decided to get the Digital Guardian Edition. I believe it's still in stock on XBL and PSN at this moment. Note: If you pre-order something digitally, you have to pay it in full. Just a quick tip in case any of you were wondering. The DGE will cost you $89.99. I thought it would be $90 flat, but it wasn't. Oh well. Saved me a penny I guess.
When I cancelled my pre-order, I used the money I had to get $90 in XBL points for the digital version, got myself a copy of Metro Redux and used the rest on another pre-order. This would probably count as my recent pick ups section because I got Metro and the following week I got Pokemon X.
Speaking of Pokemon. Who else is excited for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire?! I know I am. I never played the GameBoy Advanced games so this will be my chance. I got Pokemon X back because I overheard a GameStop employee telling a customer that they were giving out codes for two pokemon that you can get on X/Y. I remember reading up on this offer a while back but didn't pay attention to it because I no longer had X. So I asked the employee about it and he just handed me a card with the code. It showed the offer saying you can get Heracross for Pokemon X or Pinsir for Pokemon Y. I held onto the card just in case I decided to get Pokemon X. A few days later, I traded in a couple games and got it. For some reason I've been playing it every day since then. When I first got the game last year, I liked it but didn't think too much about it. I guess the fact that these Pokemon were free and with Ruby/Sapphire just a couple months away, my love for Pokemon came back.
Alright folks of Pixlbit. That's all I have to say about that(Forrest Gump) haha. This is what happens when I don't write for a couple weeks. Sorry for the long post. If any of you happen to get Destiny on Xbox One, feel free to add my gamertag: Mayhem Korneya
Hope to fight some aliens on the moon with you all! Happy gaming and.....
