Lufia Sequel Unveiled By Famitsu

Those familiar with the Taito developed Super Nintendo games will be pleased to hear that a sequel is in the works.

Back in 1993, Taito released an RPG for the Super Famicom titled Estpolis Denki - known in the US as, Lufia & the Fortress of Doom. According to a Famitsu.com posting, Square Enix is creating a sequel to the classic title.

Square Enix Cuts Work Force By 10%

Globally, Square Enix has reduced their work force after acquiring Eidos earlier this year.

In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Square Enix president Yoichi Wada revealed that the company had cut its work forace by approximately ten percent.

Taito Releases Space Invaders Extreme Z in Japan

The DSiWare title is a boiled down version of the recently released Space Invaders Extreme 2.

Today, Taito made an addition to the DSiWare weekly release with Space Invaders Extreme Z. Falling in line with many of Nintendo's boiled down offerings, Z will be a shrunken version of the recently release Space Invaders Extreme 2.

Space Invaders Extreme 2 Review

Space Invaders Extreme is back for round two, this time available exclusively for the DS.

Last year, players were provided with a brand new Space Invaders experience. Rather than the slow moving Arcade classic they were familiar with, a fast-paced, assault on the senses was put in its place. Taito has followed up that title with a brand new one, specifically made for the DS, rather than a variety of platforms. They have used the strenths of the DS to their advantage to produce an even more intense and action-packed title.
