Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 January Elite Content Impressions

With a content pack set to release to the public, find out what Elite members have been enjoying throughout January and what you can expect.

Piazza

"Piazza is set in an idyllic seaside village, Italian getaway gone rogue, where blind corners and a complex network of branching pathways pose danger at every turn. Visceral close-quarters combat dominates in Piazza, and attacks from above and below are an ever-constant threat." - Activision

Piazza is definitely my favorite of the two maps because of its maze like feel and the many different heights throughout it. It is not a map where people can just sit around and camp, which is definitely a plus for those players that enjoy sprinting around rather than sitting stationary for a long period of time. It's a faster-paced, close quarter combat map that is also great for those of you who enjoy playing in smaller areas. It’s also more of a team-based map, where you should all move around next to or near each other because there are so many different ways to enter each area. Be sure to use a short ranged, powerful weapon so that you can survive your way through the Piazza’s many twists and turns.

Other than Dome, Piazza doesn't really compare to most of the other maps in the game either. Unquestionably, Piazza offers a better experience than Dome, as it's more aesthetically pleasing and it's close quarter design is unrivaled. It's quickly become my favorite map in the game.

Regardless of what type of player you are, January’s Elite DLC should offer something for you. February brings an additional map for Elite members and I’m hoping it’s one of the better maps from MW2. Even if it isn’t, I am definitely anticipating something great.

Hot Story

In Memory of Michael Alvarado

When 1up started the process of shutting down, there was one person who seemed to lead to charge to congregate the community in a single place. After his first visit here, it wasn't long before a slew of new members arrived. The site came alive and the real story of PixlBit began - the one that involves all of you. The person I'm referring to is, of course, Michael Alvarado, otherwise known as Michael117.
