PB & Jason Issue 97: The Amazon Horned Frog Does Not Sell the 3DS XL

There's a Nintendrought in the Amazon.

Want to purchase a 3DS XL directly from Amazon? That's not going to happen. Maybe Amazon can fulfill the purchase from another website, but it just isn't the same. What's going on? There are a few rumors, and you'll have to listen to PB & Jason #97 to find out! By listening, you'll also learn about the pre-E3 "Judges Week" all those video game media outlets aren't talking about! Don't forget some impressions of the Sega Vintage Collection: Streets of Rage title I'm currently playing. All this and more are found in PB & Jason #97! Click through for the download and streaming links.

PB & Jason is recorded in front of a live studio audience every Wednesday. For ticket information, please email

I'd be willing to bet the delay of PS All-Stars is to take some steam out of the Wii U launch. EA did the same thing with Final Fantasy VIII at the Dreamcast launch. You always want to release a big exclusive when a competitor launches a new system.

If you're into vintage Sega stuff, you should REALLY check out the Monster World collection. It's really amazing. Probably one of the most entertaining titles I've reviewed so far, and it's by the same people that brought you that Streets of Rage collection, so it's quality stuff.

So we're getting the kids the Dragon Quest games for Christmas. We've also got a train ride from New York to Florida and back planned next year, so we'll have plenty of time to play it. I'll let you know how the kids enjoy it. My "not hardcore" wife, by the way, has logged over 80 hours into DQ IX. That averages out to 10 hours a day since she started playing. Last night, we were up until around midnight playing together. When I woke up the next morning, she informed me that she has NO idea how long she stayed up for after I went to sleep, but she finished two dungeons, explored 3 towns, and defeated two bosses. She's a gamer folks, and I honestly don't think she'd be playing games like this unless she was introduced to many of the concepts she's working with on easier to approach games. She just needed to find the right game to get her playing more involved titles.

I only put 67 hours into DQ IX. That's a lot for me on a handheld, but she's totally got me beat. Kudos, sir!

Due to a variety of circumstances, mostly owing up to the idea that I'm just not feeling like I could produce a good issue this week, PB & Jason #98 is going to be released next Wednesday.  To get your weekly fill of Jason and some of the PixlBit gang, tune into the upcoming PixlTalk, which I believe is due out tomorrow.
