PB & Jason Issue 108: Mini Miiverse

There's a new Wii in town, and it's not the one U think.

This week's PB & Jason offers a question: What will it take for you to buy a PlayStation Vita? Oh, it also asks why you would buy a Wii Mini! Beyond those two consoles and the special deals available for them, PB & Jason 108 takes you on a journey of three Wii U launch titles -- Nintendo Land, New Super Mario Bros. U, and Disney Epic Mickey 2 -- providing definitive verdicts on each one. Click through for the download and streaming links!

PB & Jason is recorded in front of a live studio audience every Wednesday. For ticket information, please email

The price for that bundle was excellent, even before they threw in PlayStation All Stars and the PS Plus membership. It may be a case of "too little, too late" though. PS Vita needs games, plain and simple. It needs games that are designed for the platform, and it needs them yesterday.

Of course, even then I wouldn't buy one, just like I probably won't be purchasing a 3DS. I have far too many unplayed and unopened games for my GBA, DS, and PSP to justify buying a new handheld. I'm a console gamer now, and I'm rarely in a situation where I feel like sitting at home and playing a portable game when I have more interesting games to play on my TV. Dragon Quest IX and Corpse Party are two of the best exceptions to that in recent years.

So! Good news/bad news time. Bad news first: I have a sinus infection messing with my throat and voice. As such, I won't be recording PB & Jason tonight. Good news: Instead, I'll be recording it tomorrow. I should be well enough by then, and there's no PixlTalk scheduled to go live then, so it should be a fine time to release it. No skipping PB & Jason this week!

Duck Hunt Review Rewind

Duck Hunt is an interesting relic of times past and one that I have conflicting feelings about.  While it was my earliest NES memory and no doubt fun from what I can remember, it also hasn't aged quite as well as I would have hoped.  But sometimes, that's just how it goes with the games we played as children.  I suppose the biggest letdown is realizing that the game simply isn't as stimulating to me as it once was, mostly due to its limited nature.  At its core, you're just shooting the same objects round after round until you fail to reach the required quota.  Be that as it may, Duck Hunt's importance in Nintendo's history cannot be overlooked.
