Backloggers Anonymous El Shaddai Part 1

Starring special guest, Richard Clark, of GameChurch.com!

Yes, that's right, we brought in a special guest for this one: Richard Clark of, well, half the internet really. Mostly he's known for his work at Christ and Pop Culture and Game Church. For our intentions however, it's his work covering our next game, El Shaddai, that got my attention. He's written pretty extensively on the game, and we're very happy to have him on board for these next two podcasts.

I'll be honest, this is probably one of the best recordings we've done so far. What started off as pretty standard fare conversational topics ended up getting deep. Really deep. I'm not going to spoil it for you, but make sure to give this one a listen. Also, be sure to check out Richard's work on the game:

And then a four-part series for GameRanx. WARNING! THESE CONTAIN SPOILERS!

This is a awesome game and the theme on God is excellent and god knows I need as much help as I can get im non denominational and I do go to church just not as much as I should but this game is very good.

El Shaddai was an underappreciated gem of a game. Looks gorgeous, too.

Yes I agree the graphics are magnificent and its all around a great game although combat can be a little repetitive.

That was a really good podcast! I have El Shaddai but didn't think I'd have time to participate in this BA but I might make time for it, especially if it's less than 10 years long. I am very intrigued.

FInally got to listen to this one, so excited to hear what you guys thought of it. I loved this game despite the repititious gameplay. The crazy art style and heady themes had me from start to finish.

I never really read up on this game at all, so this podcast was very informative.  I am far more curious about this game now than I was before.
