PixlTalk Episode 46: To 2011...and Beyond!

Podcasts: the final frontier. These are the recordings of the PixlTalk Crew #2. Their continuing mission: to seek out new talking points, and new awkward situations. To boldly go where no PixlTalk has gone before!

Welcome, faithful listeners, to the first official episode of PixlTalk Crew #2! Joaquim sits in with Patrick, Rob, and your new host, Julian. We talk about our personal picks for Game of the Year. Obvious games like Uncharted 3 and Batman: Arkham City are mentioned before we stop to give some love to underdogs like Dead Island and Dragon Age 2.

Rob tells us his story of meeting the BioWare doctors during the launch event for Star Wars: The Old Republic, and tries not to gloat *too* much. After that, we look into 2012 and talk about what we're most looking forward to in the new year. It's a new day for PixlTalk, and we hope you'll take this journey with us as we get off to our (only slightly) rocky start.

Excelsior!

nice work on this episode guys I really enjoyed it, also Julian/Rob let me know if you guys are going to get int SWOTR and if so what server. I wouldn't mind necessarily jumping on a new MMO, especially if some people from PixlBit are getting involved.

Thanks, Mike. I'm pleased with the way it came out. The show isn't what I have planned yet by far, but we'll get there little by little. I'll have to get back to you on my server, as the TOR servers tend to be wordy, and I can't remember where I'm at.

Street Fighter Alpha 3 is arguable my favorite Street Fighter game ever!

For me it's definitely a toss up between Alpha 3 and Super Street Fighter IV. It all depends on which one I find myself playing 5 years from now. But during my 100 Match Melee on Christmas Eve I couldn't help but marvel at the big, detailed characters and the superb animation. And Juri is the bomb, yo.

The only other Street Fighter game that comes close to Alpha 3 is Third Strike. I haven't gotten my hands around SSFIV yet so we shall see.

I seriously dislike SF 3, entirely because of the cast. Very few of the Third Strike characters feel like SF to me, and the ones that did are in SSF IV, with the exception of Alex.

That's a common complaint but I like the new cast with the exception of a few as they are only copies of other Street Fighter characters (ex. Remy is Guile, Necro is Dhalsim).

Nerds Without Pants Episode 184: The Mod Squad

Hey, it’s another episode of Nerds Without Pants! It’s a pretty good one, I think. This post is lackluster at best because I got two hours of sleep last night, which is not even long enough to sleep through this episode. That makes sense, right? Cool.
