I tend to prefer series from the Vertigo sub-print of DC.  Sandman, V for Vendetta, Watchmen and obviously Transmetropolitan are my favourites.

As far as writers, I am a fan of Neil Gaiman, Warren Ellis and Jeph  Loeb.  Specifically Loeb's work with Tim Sale.

I am far less versed on artists, but I do like Dave McKean, Frank Quitely and the guy who did the first six issues of the Walking Dead.  Tim Sale.

Superman is my favourite superhero.

i'm a morrison and moore fan, all others come second.  Warren Ellis is great though, I love Planetary and also Gaiman.  But Morrison's INvisibles and Xmen (I don't like his batman yet) and all of Moore's work really does it for me.  I've pretty much read all of Moore's stuff except Top Ten.  I love swamp thing and from hell and Promethea a lot besides the obvious titles.  Frank Miller is good too, I enjoyed the second Dark KNight book unlike most.  Obviously I grew up on Claremont as I was a Xmen fan, but my first love was the GI JOE comic written by.... I can't remember.

It's Tony.  I remembered once I saw Moore.  He also did some of the artwork for Fear Agent.  I liked those first 4 issues of that.  I should probably get back to that series.

I only read the first trade paperback of Walking Dead. Thought it was good enough but just not right for my head at the time. I've been thinking about getting a couple of more trades but:

1) Theres so much good stuff out there that interests me and

2) I think i'm over zombies in general (probably should have just started with this huh)

no... my brother is into it, but even he hasn't read them all.  I have a healthy respect for the work but I'm just not into the story.

I decided to actually put some effort in and add to this discussion. I tend to bouce from one series to another and for the last ten years only buy trade collections so I find it tough to pick favourites nowadays. I listed the series I keep buying and the writers that are able to hold my attention cover to cover. Nothing is in order.

- FC: Scott Pilgrim (obviously), Skinner Sweet - American Vampire, Batman, X-23, X-Force, Daredevil, Spiderman, Shadowcat, The Joker

- FA: Rafael Albuquerque, Jim Lee

- FW: Bryan Lee O'Malley, Scott Snyder, Alan Moore, Jeph Loeb, Frank Miller

I think the last thing I bought was Night of the Owls, but I haven't read it yet.  I haven't really been sucked into anything for a long time.  I keep meaning to reading my Alias / Jessica Jones trade I bought a while ago but keep getting distracted.

I don't read the comics but I've watched alot of super hero cartoons and movies that I know alot about my favorite super heroes.

Favorite Characters: Batman, Batgirl, Power Girl, Blue Beetle, Captain America, Black Widow, Gambit, Thor, The Tick, and Freakazoid.

I would list them all but this list would be longer, and my list goes from most favorite from DC and Marvel. The other 2 are extras.

Alright. It took me a couple of days to decide what I really-really like aside from One Piece haha, and I had to take a few out because they would be in the animation department. I might be forgetting one, or another for sure, but nothing has popped out of my head just yet. It's an incomplete list haha.

Favorite Characters: Wolverine, Galactus, Batman, Yoichi Hiruma, One Piece characters (all of them... I cheated, but well deserved), Guts.

Favorite Artist: Yoshitaka Amano, Joe Madureira, Todd Mcfarlane, Eichiro Oda, Tsutomu Nihei.

What's everyone reading at the moment? As I mentioned in my blog today, I'm working my way through the first trade paperback of "Fatale" by Ed Brubaker. Artist is Sean Phillips. Really enjoying it so far.

my brother bought me two trades for xmas, but I haven't gotten to them yet:

Superman: Earth One, by JMS,

and Legends of the Dark Knight by i don't know who.  I should really read them, and maybe i will today.

I saw that the Planetary omnibus is out soon or is out, and I'm going to have to splurge and get that.  That's one of my favorite comics of the past decade or so.

I'm not really into comics/ manga anymore, but a couple things are in my mind. I really need to catch up on the Mega Man trades. I have the first 2, but that's it. I also need to order Final Fantasy Sky when I have some disposable income.

I love me some X-MEN still to this day, as well as Batman.

All New X-Men : The current running series following the events of Avengers vs. X-Men last summer is really fun and exciting. The original X-Men group has been brought into the present to help bring the current X-Men back together again. In case you were wondering Cyclops joined Magneto and took soom of the Xavier school kids with him to create the New Brotherhood of Mutants, and Wolverine and Kitty Pride are now running the Jean Grey school, formerly the Xavier school and lots of drama ensues.

Batman (New 52): While a lot of DC fans have swore off reading anything about the new 52, mostly because DC discontinued most of their history lines and rebooted all their main '52' comics starting with #1 issues for newbies (get away you filthy casuals) , I still find alot of enjoyment out of reading the main Batman comic particularly because it is being written by Scott Snyder and art work by Greg Capullo, and together they've done a good job of making Batman feel fresh while still adding new material to the series.

I've always been a detective fan, though it got better during the new 52, it's not the same. I still prefer Snyders Detective run, I've met him, he's a nice guySmile

Keep reading Megaman, I still need to finish the crossover review.

The Sky is great, his evolution and that of the series is wonderful to look at (play on the other hand...). My favs are between his Landscapes and Mechdesigns.

I really REALLY wish they'd remake FF6 for Wii U or something, just to see all the designs come to life.
