X-Men Arcade Now Available on PSN and XBLA

The classic arcade 6-player Konami beat-em-up has been released to both platforms.

Fans of the arcade classic X-Men Arcade can find the game for 800 MS Points on XBLA or $9.99 on PSN. The port of the game contains several special settings and new online features.

While only four players can play X-Men Arcade on an XBox 360 console at once, when taken online or played on the PS3, the game can accommodate six players at one time, emulating the arcade game's six control inputs and characters.

X-Men Arcade also contains a few features including a Japanese arcade mode, containing the easier Japanese version of the game, with power-ups and energy drops. There's also a Custom Match Mode, which allows the player to set the difficulty, number of players, and beginning stage.

I'm entirely considering buying the PSN version of this game just because six players can play on one console.

While this is probably the classic Konami Arcade Beat-em-up I played the least back when I was a kid, I do at least remember trying to put in a coin, only to pick the wrong quarter slot and provide some other player with extra lives. Whoops!
