Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut DLC Releasing Tomorrow

The free extended ending is right around the corner.

The long awaited DLC that is meant to clear up and expand upon the controversial endings to Mass Effect 3 is on the horizon. Due out Tuesday, June 26, the Extended Cut DLC will expand upon the ending that left so many people in an uproar for weeks after the initial release of the game.

BioWare claims that “through additional cinematic sequences and epilogue scenes, the Extended Cut will include deeper insight to Commander Shepard’s journey based on player choices during the war against the Reapers.” To clear up for those confused, this is not an entirely new ending, just an elaboration on the existing ones.

Information from Bioware shows that the DLC is 1.9 Gigabytes in size and, of course, free of charge. Players are advised to begin their saves right before the assault on Cerberus at the end of the game.

For anyone interested, tomorrow night PixlBit will be hosting a live PlayBit of the Extended Cut, where thoughts on the ending will be discussed, as well as a dissection of the events that occur.

*Update*: The live Playbit has been delayed, mainly due to technological issues. We will update as soon as we can.*

Let us know what you think about the idea of the Extended Cut and your speculation, if you have any, in the comments below.

This sentiment has been circulating for years, and even though I believe that E3 is vital to the gaming industry, it’s high time that the show evolved.
