Zero And Joe The Condor Bolster Tatsunoko vs. Capcom's Character List

Two more characters in Capcom's update to last year's Japanese-only release are from the Gatchaman and Mega Man series. UPDATE: There's still one more unannounced character.

Two new fighters from Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars were revealed by IGN today, to be Joe the Condor and Zero.

Joe the Condor, from the Tatsunoko series Gatchaman, went by many different names (Jason, Condor Joe, Dirk Daring, etc.) and is part of G-Force, which also contains fellow Tatsunoko fighters Ken the Eagle and Jun the Swan.

Zero, who first appeared in Mega Man X, wields an energy sword and stars in his own series of portable games. He's the third Mega Man character in the game.

With the announcement of these two characters, a single unspecified character is left. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars is set for a late January release everywhere.

Updated to state that these are not the final two characters

Is it the version of Zero printed here?

To me, it's a little surprising and a little odd that Capcom didn't go with their classic Mega Man, nor X, nor even Zero. Instead, they went with the Mega Man from Legends, as well as Zero as he appears in Mega Man Zero.

A little surprising, but I suppose it could be a method to gauge interest in these characters. Has the Versus series led to any resurrection I'm not aware of?

It's not really correct that these are the final characters. ESRB revealed that there are 26 characters. The removal of Hakuson Daimo(sp?) and the addition of these two make 25.
