Konami Announces Tomena Sanner for WiiWare

Players must race across a level in order to reach the "ultimate party".

Earlier today Konami announced that Tomena Sanner,a popular Japanese WiiWare title, will be making its way to America.

Tomena Sanner is a side-scrolling platformer which allows players to take control of Hitoshi Susumu; a businessman who always seems to be running late. In order for him to make it to the "ultimate dance party" on time, he must tackle countless obstacles his path. Some of the wackier things that players might encounter are cowboys, T-Rex, and samurai, which players can avoid in unique ways such as jumping, dancing, or flying.

There are nine levels in total for players to tackle including locations such as a city, jungle, and the Moon. There is also and endless mode for continuous play and a Turbo Mode for players who want to challenge themselves.

Tomena Sanner will also feature up-to-four player cooperative play, as well as an online ranking system.

Tomena Sanner will release for WiiWare during Q1 of 2010. For screenshots click here.

El Segundo, Calif. – October 29, 2009 - Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today announced Tomena Sanner, an upcoming downloadable game for Nintendo WiiWare™. Based on the popular title released in Japan, Tomena Sanner challenges players to run through wacky obstacles in order to reach the finish line and take part in the ultimate dance party.

“Tomena Sanner stands apart from other downloadable titles because of its zany nature and very humorous take on casual gaming,” said David Daniels, Director of Marketing at Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. “In bringing Tomena Sanner to a North American audience, we wanted to ensure that the game stayed true to its origins while also providing the essential ‘party game’ experience to consumers.”

Players will be able to lead Hitoshi in his quest across nine different levels including the Moon, jungle, a city and more. As an added bonus, multiplayer madness with up to four players can ensure that Hitoshi does not miss the party, and online rankings can be updated with high scores. For a while I was planning to figure out how to connect to the Japanese Wii Shop so I could specifically download this game. Looks like a crazy Japanese blast, definitely grabbing it when it lands.

IIRC, it's 500 Wii Points in Japan, so it'll probably be the same here. So... it'll be awesome and cheap.
