PS3 Netflix Streaming Solution Won't Change Soon
Netflix confirmed that the service won't be integrated into the XMB interface for a while.
Steve Swasey, the Netflix Vice President of Corporate Communications has confirmed with G4 that PS3 owners will have to use their Netflix streaming discs for at least a year in order to access the service.
Netflix expects to see an integrated Netflix streaming solution to be embedded in the PS3 XMB sometime in 2010 through a firmware update. There is speculation that use of the streaming disc is due to some kind of exclusivity that Netflix has with Microsoft.
