PSPgo Getting a UMD Drive?

An undisclosed source claims that Logitech is producing one for the currently purely digital system.

With the release of the PSPgo a little over two months ago, Sony has received a multitude of complaints from its consumers ranging from long download periods, to delays on the release of digital form of certain titles.

Today CVG announced, that according to a source at Logitech, the company is hard at work on a UMD add-on peripheral for the system. The one downfall with the add-on, according to the source, is that it will "make the PSP a little bulky," detracting from its overarching design, intentionally made to be more portable than the original PSP.

The source was unable to provide any other details, such as price or expected release date. When CVG contacted the UK Logitech office regarding the claim, the office replied, "We're not aware of it, so it may be something the US office is working on."

We will keep you posted on any updates to this claim, including any official statements made by Logitech or Sony.
