Famitsu Reveals Knights in the Nightmare for PSP

Sting is porting their unique DS title to the PSP.

In the latest issue of Famitsu Weekly, it was revealed that Knights in the Nightmare will be receiving a PSP port of the DS original. Like the DS version, the port will be developed by Sting and published by Atlus.

In addition to a new control scheme to match the capabilities of the PSP, the new version of the game sports three new items.

A new tutorial mission will be available to explain the complex mechanics of the game. A Talk Collection Mode will also be added. The mode is a compendium of dialog from all 200 characters in the game. As players encounter new enemies, that dialog will be made available in the mode.

The final addition is a brand new anime opening for the game. The creator of the opening sequence for Yggdra Union will be directing the scene.

According to Famitsu, the game is already complete and awaiting release. Currently, Atlus plans to release the game exclusively in Japan on April 22, 2010 for ¥6,279 (~$69).

After playing the DS version extensively, I simply can't imagine playing Knights in the Nightmare without a direct pointing device such as a touchscreen.

Yeah, this game was confusing enough with the stylus, it's going to be a mess with buttons and a D-Pad.
