Keeping Tablets

I need to get back into writing blogs. I’m starting a new blog series, Figure Frontier. It’ll be like my previous Game Finds blogs (which I need to get back to again.) being short and to the point. First Figure Frontier blog can be found here. On with this blog.

Nothing really interesting happened at work last week, except for keeping myself inline and just be nice for a change. So far I think I’m doing a decent job, with everyone tolerating me a bit more.

Moving on to tech the folks bought themselves new tablets to play with; Mom got a new one because she had some problems getting her Kindle Fire to charge and Dad got one because why the hell not. So what of the Kindle Fire? It went to me.

Kindle FireSo the only problem with it is the charging issue I mentioned and at the very moment I took a whack at it I also had a problem getting power to the battery. The problem is with the micro USB port: I have to elevate the plug connecting to the port just enough for something to bridge, which is concerning because I don’t want to break the conduit piece within the port whenever I just want to give the battery some juice. After some trial and error from early Friday morning midnight to 2 AM I got this thing fully charged. Now the question is what to do with it. I’m sure I’ll find some use for it, such as reading off a guide to find the water chip while playing Fallout in full screen or put some e-graphic novels.

In gaming I have finally came to wits end with going back and forth to the island in New Leaf. I just decided to go to the island twice every other night.

Also, I got a  Dragonite code card for my Alpha Sapphire game and I’ll get to training it sometime this week. Till next time.

I'd love a Kindle Fire. The reading light I use keeps me awake sometimes.

I would read from mine but I need to find comics and graphic novels for it first.

I have a couple of Android tablets. The 12" HP one is great for graphic novels. The other one isn't getting much use at the moment. I haven't used a Kindle Fire but my mum got a Kobo Arc HD which I had to set up for her. It was a pretty slick little tablet but she kept screwing it up when reading on it by touching the screen where she shouldn't. She wound up blaming it on the tablet and giving it to my niece.

Yeah going back and forth to the island can get a bit old and was particularly bad until I figured out how to get the Cap to shut up. those songs drove me up the wall.

Tablets are definitely good for using while you are playing a game. I read and reply to blogs on an iPad Mini these days. Also very good for reading books.

My mom is big on the causal hide and find games, which worries me a bit because I don't have much trust in some sites such as Big Fish Games. But then again I think I inherited my dad's paranoia so I could be slightly wrong.

Just farming for beetles in itself is just tiring, and it doesn't help me with my other game sessions. I just need to learn to pace myself between these games.

Whenever I'm playing through Steam I use the web browser but now that I have my own tablet I can just look to my left for answers, if I can get it to charge right.

I love my tablet, an iPad.  I do a lot of different things on it, including writing and composing music.  They're great.

Yeah, I guess tablets make things more convient.

I have a Kindle Fire HD myself and I really like it as an E-reader. I've been thinking in connecting the tablet to the PC and bring some (if not all) of the comics I got from Humble since it seems my model does support comics.

I was wondering about the compatibility of digital comics from another source. I think my Kindle is just a decent e-reader but I found Pixel Dungeon on the Amazon store. Not sure how much of the game is "free" but it's good so far.

I will definitely get some e-comics on it soon, starting with Squirrel Girl.
