One Vision because I might get the others.

Monday after work was quite a surprise. While I had a missed attempt on Sunday to get my RAM for the Dell we just went to the PC shop to pick up a stick. While it’s just 1GB the new hardware made a significant improvement. After getting things going I decided to test some games on it. I was surprised even more when I found out this old machine could run Half-Life 2. Granted there was some slowdown on the particle effects (I’m still working on the right settings for performance but pretty.) but it ran quite well. So now I have most of my steam games installed. I will have to use Dad’s when I come for games that require a graphic card with 512MB or higher but I’m sure he won’t mind if I leave Marvel Diablo on there.

Speaking of Marvel there this game I wanted to check out. Well, more of a total conversion of Quake. I’ve been getting into the comic heroes since I’ve been collecting these figures and it helped jogged a part of my memory: X-Men: Ravages of Apocalypse. I remember my dad buying the retail copy but for some reason or another it was a Mac only copy. So we never had the chance of playing it. Thanks to the Internet, however, the TC is up on Mod Database and ready to download. I’ll try it out after work on Saturday if I can find my copy of Quake.

And since we’re still on Marvel I finally got an Age of Ultron Mystery Box. I didn’t get it right away because Mom was called in all of a sudden while we were in the middle of grocery shopping. After coming back to get our cart I had to go back to the electronics department where I left the box. Sure enough it was still there, like I was suppose to get that one. So I suppose I was destined to get Vision.

Funko Mini Vision

I can’t wait for September to roll in. While I still need to play the classic Fallout games (after work during the weekend, for certain.) I can barely contain myself for the upcoming Fallout Perks bobbleheads figures. I will hunt for those if I have to.

To close this entry up I decided to look into a series when I get set up for the Winter Sale. After some consulting with a fellow gamer I decided to go with the game she recommended to play first.

Also, why did no one tell me about this?

Till next time.

Mystery boxes are pretty cool. It reminds me of when I was a member of the Model of the Month Club. I'd build one and then couldn't wait for the next.

I never really got into the mystery bag thing until Funko came around with this stuff. Like I said, I can wait for the Fallout ones coming out in September.

What type of game is Anachronox?

Never mind. Wish some of these comedic/great story games weren't turn-based.

it's a cool game, but it is, like you said, turn based.  I think you would like it otherwise though.

Turn-based is kind of my bread and butter but I can see how it can be a turn off.

Half-Life 2 is one of my favorites.  Can't wait to play it on Steam's VR thingie whenever it comes out.

Not really going to look into the VR thingie myself. Having to see motion blur on a monitor is already disorienting but up close to my eyes I would just get dizzy.

I have Anachronox on GOG. I think it was only a couple of bucks when I bought it.

GOG, huh? Maybe I'll get that there along with a few games.

It's $5.99 right now but it goes on sale all the time for cheaper.
